Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales. Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37. They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.

After a rejection, even a considered kind one, comes the will to improve & try again, the inevitable depression during which you must keep balance and faith – being a poet is a constant negotiation with equilibrium, keeping a core of self belief so one day the next good poem will come out of nowhere

Tax-free childcare: great idea but the reality is every month I waste HOURS doing 2FA, emailing the school office & approving transactions to access it. It's such a waste of my time and staff time. Just give the money to the school or better yet, fund it & make it all free at the point of use.

UK publishing generated £7.4 billion in revenue last year. Compare that to: Premier League football: £6.6 billion Home entertainment: £5.6 billion UK film industry: 2.8 billion Now tell me again why authors don't deserve fair contracts and better pay.

Such a pleasure to publish Barbara's poem on the 7+ Timeline. Looking forward to seeing what pupils and teachers do with it :)

Exciting news! One of my poems has just gone up on @poetrybyheart.bsky.social 7+ timeline. When I see who else is up there, I can't quite believe it. I really am a 'poetry person' now! I hope some children choose it to perform it in forthcoming competitions. poetrybyheart.org.uk/timeline/7plus

How can poetry take a bigger place in the classroom? When children are immersed in poetry and given time to listen, read, discuss and perform, the impact is clear. Poetry builds writing confidence, voice and creativity, and brings learning to life across the curriculum. More: clpe.org.uk/poetry
