It pains me to see adaptation used to undermine mitigation, but also to see it painted as a "false solution." Adaptation is harm reduction for climate impacts that can no longer be avoided. Climate justice demands it. AND it has limits, becoming less effective and more costly as warming proceeds.

Anyway, on to the other type of "really productive soil." It's literally any soil that people are taking care of properly. That's right folks, good farmland is a renewable resource! You can make good farmland just about anywhere, through the simple expedient of "treating it right"!
Pelican is one of the most amazing cities. Most of the town is built on piers and abuts very steep cliffs of metamorphic rocks. All of the infrastructure is hung under the piers.
