Tbh I think owners would be fine not making a serious run at Skubal / letting him go to LAD in service of the desire for further cost-control measures in collective bargaining. Acceleration of the Dodgers Ruined Baseball narrative seems to have a lot of fans already sympathetic to ownership's side

It’s that a team like the Brewers, that has an absolutely loaded farm system comparable to the Dodgers’ and a MUCH bigger need for Skubal, might not be willing to give up as much as the Dodgers are.
