Reports that Iran is calling this an escalation and so on, need to note that Iran has been supplying missiles, drones and explosives/munitions to Russia for the war in Ukraine for years via the Caspian Sea shipping

Ship filmed sinking off Odesa today appears to be Guinea Bissau-flagged grain ship Golden Leo (IMO 9181833) which was struck by a missile from a Russia jet on 19th July. Reportedly with AS-13 KINGBOLT (Kh-59) or AS-22 KAZOO (Kh-69) air-launched cruise missiles.

An annual drill called "the premier peacekeeping exercise in the Pacific region" wrapped this week in Mongolia after bringing together U.S. and other multinational troops for pre-deployment training to nations preparing to support U.N. peacekeeping missions. From Stars and Stripes' Seth Robson:

Russian naval base Kronstadt, St Petersburg is unusually empty. Vacation mode for me so no proper count but timelapsing late June 2021 to now the relative emptiness is apparent. Rather blunt method, so very curious on input from people with more detailed knowledge.
