things are worse for trans people today than they were 10 or 20 years ago, yes. see this is the trick libs pull, they say 'the LGBTQ community' when they want to say that because the supreme court ruled gay marriage legal that democrats haven't actually backslid substantially on trans rights

Fits and starts. You think things are worse for the LGBTQ community today than 20 years ago? 50 years ago? Certainly, MAGA has taken us to some new territory, which is why tearing them down is so vital for all marginalized groups.

Not only do those Dems know there’s no way they’re going to steal a meaningful number of votes from the GOP with transphobia, they know transphobia loses the Dems votes and volunteers *permanently* That’s the point. They’re trying to set a ceiling on rights and respect for trans people in the party

The question to follow every “x can’t do y, it’s illegal” with is “ok, what happens if he does it” For most of us it’s “the cops will come and maybe kill you” For the guys running things it’s “a strongly worded letter will be sent”

"Illegal" doesn't mean "impossible." Every day, people say "but Trump can't do that! That's illegal!" Of course he can do that. Police can ignore your rights. Judges can ignore the law. People speed every single day. Laws are lists of consequences: nothing more.
