@mythicsgo.bsky.social

Hello! I like to world build and post fantasy with a sprinkle of horror elements The Sacrificial Heart- my bat series that has a sacrificial magic system (go figure)

#MythAugust 9 As stated prior, the Taker is the god of removal. This could easily be interpreted as the god death in some areas but they embody more than that. They can take away the pain and suffering, remove diseases, and remove undesired traits in a being just to name a few

🫜Prof Emily🫜@professoremily.bsky.social · 4d ago

#MythAugust 9 Today, go into a little more detail about what your chosen deity represents. This is less about their symbolism or powers (those are for later days), and more about their deeper meaning: what kinds of values or concepts do they embody? What do they mean to their followers?

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 9:
Continuing from yesterday: what does this particular deity represent? What are they most associated with?

At the bottom of the image in small text it says "Feel free to yap about a fantasy mythology you already have, or use these prompts to create a new one! Don't forget to interact with others :-)"

#MythAugust 8 I’m going to challenge myself with the lesser fleshed out god of the two. The Taker is most easily known as the deity of removal. More will be explained in the next few

#MythAugust 8 Week 2! This week we'll be focusing on one specific deity (though you are free to discuss more than one in multiple posts 😊) Pick a god/spirit and introduce them! Keep in mind we'll be going into detail about their powers & symbolism later, so keep it pretty basic!

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 8:
Choose one specific god or spirit to yap about & introduce them! If you want to do multiple gods, feel free to make multiple posts.

#MythAugust 7 Oops, forgot about this for a sec The gods can travel through all 13 realms, though they mainly stay in the beyond/ the beginning. Sometimes they enter into the astral realm to interact with their “favored” but they haven’t made an appearance in the mortal realm in a loooong time

🫜Prof Emily🫜@professoremily.bsky.social · 6d ago

#MythAugust 7 Sorry for posting a little late! To finish off this first week, tell me about where your gods/spirits live. Is there a realm or plane that belongs to the gods? Do the spirits dwell in sacred locations or objects? Is it more abstract than that?

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 7:
Where do your gods usually live?

#MythAugust 🤩 Oh boy it's sort of artwork time. 🎨 @birdko.art Erra takes the form of a massive centipede, but she's got a thousand golden legs rather than the ~hundred expected. Her body is covered in black plates that bear golden markings similar to Tuyo patterns. 🧵1/2

Art commissioned from and alt text by birdko.art: Art Nouveau style illustration of a Tarot card representing the High Priestess. Chiyo, a woman with reddish-black hair in a hime cut and clad in white robes under a navy, red and ivory kimono jacket, sits by a pond of dark reddish liquid. Behind her, a giant centipede twines its black, gold and red body around two pines standing on either side of her: the left one is dark and healthy, while the right one is pale and dead. The sky in the background is tinged red and features a large full moon. A trickle of red liquid pours from above, falling into Chiyo's cupped palm before flowing down to the pool below her.
Chiyo belongs to Khonri on Bluesky.

#MythAugust 10 Tell us about your chosen god/spirit's appearance! Do they always look the same, or does their appearance change? Do they appear one way to some and another way to others? Bonus: how do their followers usually depict them, and is the representation accurate? 👀

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 10:
What does this deity look like? Can they take on different appearances?

Background image features a classic painting of Thor wielding his hammer with lightning, about to smote his enemies.

At the bottom of the image in small text it says "Feel free to yap about a fantasy mythology you already have, or use these prompts to create a new one! Don't forget to interact with others :-)"

#MythAugust 6 In Niren legends, the deities were heavily involved during the creation period. Their desires shaped how the world appeared but are less involved by the time the twins are born. Certain members could be seen as “favored” by the gods such as healers or disfavored such as being twins

🫜Prof Emily🫜@professoremily.bsky.social · 7d ago

#MythAugust 6 Some of the previous posts may have touched on this a bit already, but what kind of relationship do your deities have with the mortals of this world? Are they benefactors? Distant & aloof? Capricious & cruel? A mix? Bonus question: is the mortals' understanding of them accurate?? 👀

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 6:
What is your gods' relationship to the people of your world? Are they distant & uncaring? Involved & nurturing? Unpredictable chaos agents?

Background image features a classic painting of Thor wielding his hammer with lightning, about to smote his enemies.
Below the hashtag in small text it says "Presented by @professoremily.bsky.social."
At the bottom of the image in small text it says "Feel free to yap about a fantasy mythology you already have, or use these prompts to create a new one! Don't forget to interact with others :-)"

#MythAugust 5 For the twin’s clan in present day, they heavily favor the “Giver” to help them repent for old atrocities in the past but say a hundred or more years ago? That belonged to the “Taker” during times of conquest and even earlier than that? Both equally.

🫜Prof Emily🫜@professoremily.bsky.social · last wk.

#MythAugust 5 Today is about hierarchy! Who ranks highest or lowest among your gods/spirits/whatever? Is there a consensus about this ranking? As usual, interpret the question as loosely as you need to to fit your specific worldbuilding, and feel free to skip if it's not relevant to you! 😊❤️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 5:
Let's talk hierarchy! Which of your deities are more powerful/respected? Are there minor deities who serve the big ones?

Background image features a classic painting of Thor wielding his hammer with lightning, about to smote his enemies.
Below the hashtag in small text it says "Presented by @professoremily.bsky.social."
At the bottom of the image in small text it says "Feel free to yap about a fantasy mythology you already have, or use these prompts to create a new one! Don't forget to interact with others :-)"

#MythAugust 4 Personally neither deities have their own factions as one cannot exist without the other. Their relationship varies from region to region. Some see them as siblings, other- companions, and very few as rivals.

🫜Prof Emily🫜@professoremily.bsky.social · last wk.

#MythAugust 4 Today, tell me about the different factions among your gods/spirits. Think like the Æsir & Vanir in Norse mythology, or angels & demons in Christianity. What's their relationship? Are they sworn enemies? Sometimes allies? Interpret the question however makes sense for your story!

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 4:
Are there different factions among your deities? If so, what is their relationship to each other?

The “Giver” and “Taker” are amoral in their beliefs. They’re the embodiment of life and death + the concept of giving and receiving. However, what is defined is either or is subjective to the followers. Some followers may spin their own bias beliefs onto their gods but neither is truly good or evil

🫜Prof Emily🫜@professoremily.bsky.social · last wk.

#MythAugust 3 What kind of moral code do your fantasy gods or spirits follow, if any? Do they share similar moral values to the people, or is their sense of morality completely alien? Do they even do "morality" at all? As usual, interpret as you wish and don't forget to interact with others! ☺️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 3:
How does your deities' sense of morality align with that of people? I.e. are they moral, immoral, amoral, a mix...?

Background image features a classic painting of Thor wielding his hammer with lightning, about to smote his enemies.

Jhansi is my main protagonist from Interstellar who hails from air scholars and is desperate to prove her worth almost to the detriment to her health. She relies on her wit as her wind magic is weak. She is tasked with finding envoys from other elemental nations against a large threat.

The Two deities that the Niren worship are the “Giver” and “Taker”. Their realm of powers are in their names though their appearance varies from region to region. There are Vessels that are “favored” that are equivalent of saints but aren’t actual deities

#MythAugust Day 2 Tell us about the major god(s) or spirit(s) in your fantasy religion! This is meant to be a broad overview - we'll have focused questions for specific gods later! Feel free to interpret the question as loosely as you need to if you aren't working with a traditional pantheon 😁

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 2:
Who are the major gods or spirits in your fantasy religion? List as many or as few as you want!

Hello! In my bat series my main protagonists follow the “Chosen Order”, a very old religion that’s technically polytheistic (2 gods) although there’s a stronger favor between one over the other. I’m excited to learn about what other people come up with for the challenge.

🫜Prof Emily🫜@professoremily.bsky.social · 2w ago

Hello #writingcommunity, welcome to Day 1 of #MythAugust! This is a worldbuilding game about ✨fantasy✨ gods, myths & religions! You can use the prompts to build up your gods, or yap about some you've already made! Today, give us a BRIEF intro (not too detailed!), & please interact with others ☺️❤️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 1:
Introduce your fantasy religion! Is it monotheistic (1 god), polytheistic (many gods), or something else?

#Juniplex 3 Simplest answer is they’re a group of beings that can’t be burned by the eternal flame and are able to shift it into weapons of healing or strike. They have a crest somewhere on their back or neck but I don’t have an exact design yet.

Khonri 🫜@khonri.com · 2mo ago

Some early #Juniplex food for thought as we move into the more concrete topics... Is there anything that meant to tie all the members together? Something used to weed out the unworthy (or frankly dangerous)? For code of conduct, I'd also say rules/laws/codified expectations.

A daily prompt card for #Juniplex 2026 (aka the JunitaryIndustrialComplex), hosted by @khonri.com.

Foundations & History, Prompt 3. What beliefs bind and define this force? Are there specific creeds or oaths a member is expected to take? More generally, what code of conduct are they held to?

Interpret each prompt as suits your needs! Talk about relevant characters! Yap! Or don't! Develop a new military or guild or whatever or talk about one you've already built. Make friends.

The background features a blurred, purple toned image of a old helmet laying in a field of grass in the foreground; far in the distance a castle and tall mountain peak are visible.

I spent the entirety of June screaming while trying to make my very first "animatic" for Sunday. I've gotten better at art now. I'm considering completely remaking and properly animating this one day. Btw, stream/buy albums of renaive and Gracehowl !!

#BonApriltit day 30 Thank you for hosting this event! It was cool seeing everyone’s interpretations on worldbuilding food! Ikki doesn’t have a preference and I think most people would be deterred from eating bugs via Ari and Mara so here’s mine. chefsbinge.com/kimchi-jjiga...

Very old concept of house designs. In my bat world, land masses are actually giant turtles that periodically dive down. The closer you are to waters, the more likely your house is going to sink. I don’t know what materials the houses would be… old bones from dead turtles? Bricks? Who knows

#BonApriltit day 26 Ikki- nothing Ari- Blood products. It’s not taboo in Ari and Mara’s culture but she’s seen how it impacts Mara and it disgusts her Mara- Sweets. Mara had a bad encounter with poisonous berries that were offered and it traumatized her Kila- “poor dishes”.
