The shift in Mitsuki's colors from a character that was half light and half dark, a partially illuminated moon, to one that's fully dark without Boruto in his life. None of it's practical, but it's incredibly fun to look at and talk about.

Delta having a circus performer/doll-like outfit, a callback to the robot circus from Astro Boy that seem to have inspired her. The galactic imagery of stars and moons for Eida and Daemon.

Sarada and Sumire are on the spectrum of alt girl to prep, their clothing displaying their personalities and role in the stories, the rebel, the more thoughtful scientist. Shikamaru looks like the last substitute teacher on the call list who really didn't want to have to work today.

Kawaki get a streetwear look, baggy and sagging pants, thick belts. It feels like a callback to the origins of the look and how culture looked down on the style. Yet, he's also the Hokage's (perceived) son, so it has a bit of the mainstream commodification fashion.

But it goes soooo much deeper than that. We have Boruto with a more sleek, cultured fashion, adopting his master's cape and habit of displaying his chest. The symbolism of the pins representing different things of value.

I could write about the designs for thousands of words. Ikemoto talked about how they're representative of characters, that Boruto takes care of his appearance to honor his master while Kawaki's clothes are in tatters because it represents his inner self.

"#BORUTO" will celebrate its 10th anniversary on May 9, 2026! 10th Anniversary Projects Are Underway!! The first in the series is the first "BORUTO -TWO BLUE VORTEX-" figure, based on an original illustration of Boruto by artist Mikio Ikemoto. ✨
