Not everyone’s doing it. Mike isn’t. I’m not. My writers’ room is not. In fact, I only know of 1 writer who admits to using AI to brainstorm with. Some undoubtedly use it. But clickbait headlines like this create a permission structure for more to do so. You don’t have to and you shouldn’t.

What the hell happened to Honeycrisp apples? They used to be one of the best varieties and now they’re usually no better than a goddam Gala.

Took me 30 years to grow a beard, so I kept it for the next 14 and finally shaved it off this week. I’ve gotten a lot of “you look different!” but not a single “you look good!” Let’s hope it doesn’t take another 30 years to grow it back.

I hadn’t seen any live music in a month and last night’s show was exactly what I needed. Being around so many awesome people having a blast did wonders for my mental health.

I was driving with my daughter and a Backstreet Boys’ song came on the radio. She was like, “Are any of the Backstreet Boys still alive?” I said, “They all are. This song came out like a month ago.” She was like, “They’re still making music?! Aren’t they like 80 years old now?”

I received one of these yesterday from someone who would have had my email in their inbox. When I clicked the link it wanted me to log in with my gmail. I immediately closed out and flagged it as suspicious. This feels like old school phishing. Almost quaint.

Not a bad place for a watch party. Thoroughly enjoyed a post-match swim too.

This most satisfying feeling in writing is when a solution to an ongoing story problem magically pops into your head after days of struggling with it. The worst feeling in writing is when you promptly forget that story solve and can’t remember it because I’m stupid dum-dum idiot!!!

I eventually learned on my show that I had to pick one, MAYBE two things in the script I was really passionate about and do my best to protect them during the rewrite. It happened more than once that those things were cited as favorite parts of the ep by a significant number of fans

Everything Carole says in this video is spot on, but I’ll add two things: 1. If you compliment their previous work, make sure it’s genuine. People see through the BS. 2. Research should include mutual connections. And if your mutual has a good rapport with the showrunner, a rec greases the wheels!

The Internet has felt like an especially toxic place lately. Last week, I spent a couple days in rural Oregon and there wasn’t any cell or internet reception (which was nice), but there were lots of crabs (which was also nice). This one was a real cutie!
