I have a feeling that Bruno's fouls-to-cards ratio will change this season
I'd hate to see Nwaneri go but this would be a good deal. He has shown promise but he's not going to get regular minutes in our current team. Let him build confidence and hone his craft for a couple of years, then buy him back if he's good enough. If not, 40m is a good deal for an academy product.
I guess this is the answer on our midfield conundrum
Very nervous about this since tomorrow is our first live test but... if you're willing to put up with some possible bugs, join us tomorrow for live commentary and discussion by Arsenal fans! Seriously, this could be a disaster but can't be as bad as Arsenal's? And at a fraction of the budget?
Fair play to Arsenal. A few days late (and absolutely the right thing to do), but they're offering full refunds for everyone who bought the pre-season passes. Technical issues meant people couldn't watch against Girona and they won't be able to stream the game against Betis either.
If he doesn't throw an elbow at Gunnersaurus in his announcement video then what are we even doing
🚨 Arsenal nearing total agreement with Newcastle United to sign Bruno Guimaraes. Desire among all parties to bring situation to close + deal now on course for completion; 28yo awaiting #NUFC permission to undergo medical & seal #AFC switch 🚨 @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/743...
Love how every year now has a home kit, a middle-aged white dude kit, and a streetwear/festival kit Someone needs to create a personality quiz based on which kits a person has bought over the last 10 years
It's a low bar. Surely there's enough interesting people out there who will do live commentary for Arsenal games to kick these guys to the curb!
If that also means zero percent of Robbie and whatever schmucks he interviewed for AFTV that are still around, I'm in favor of it. Dare we dream? Zero percent of Graeme Souness? And Jamie Redknapp? And Danny Murphy? And Graeme Le Saux, who pollutes the U.S. edition of Premier League broadcasts?
Had Raising Cane's for the first time tonight and I do not get the hype
We're never beating the allegations
🚨 EXCL: Everton reach agreement in principle with Arsenal to sign Christian Norgaard. Still needs formalising but 32yo midfielder set to join #EFC from #AFC for in region of £7m. Expected to undergo medical next week ahead of proposed move 🚨 @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/748...
I get we may have to sacrifice a player we love to fund transfers but this is close to worst case scenario
Manchester United again looking at Lewis-Skelly, amid push for Lewis Hall Arsenal don’t want to sell but feeling is situation could change if ambitious transfer plans come off www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...
I'm glad we're going for it but it might be hard for Arsenal to bounce back if this doesn't happen. No clear second choice and every club will have us over the barrel in negotiations. Feels like a real sliding doors moment for Arteta and the club.
🚨 Vinicius Junior future entering crucial stage - meetings in coming days over extension at Real Madrid, free exit 2027 or join Arsenal now. #AFC all in & 26yo winger attracted by opportunity if no #RMFC renewal 🚨 W/ @gunnerblog.bsky.social @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/748...

Wenger's silence is concerning but it's like the early days of Trump... do you want good people to resign or be there as a buffer against a madman's behavior? Lose/lose for whoever finds themself in that position.
This is a very good point. Fifa needs football but football doesn't need Fifa. Fifa has no intrinsic value. There is no special reason it should be maintained and reformed. We could close it tomorrow and organise the World Cup and other tournaments anew and not one thing would be lost.
My entire life I’ve never called it the FIFA World Cup. I’ve always called it the World Cup. Fans don’t give a shit about FIFA. If national teams showed up for a World Cup tournament not held by FIFA we would all watch it. World Cup is the brand. FIFA is nothing.
Carlos Cordeiro, Senior Advisor to Gianni Infantino quits, and urges other 'principled' people in FIFA to speak out against the sell-off plan. He also lays bare how unnecessary it is. 'The organisation sits on billions of dollars of reserves ...' 💵💵💵
106 FIFA votes are needed to pass Infantino's lunacy. UEFA has 55 votes CONCACAF: 35 votes AFC: 46 votes That's 136 votes if every member falls in line. Impossible to know if that will happen, especially once Infantino starts giving out bags of cash, but there's far more hope today than yesterday.
My friend has the theory that Infantino's plans are just a trial balloon that he'll know gets rejected. The real threat is what he'll do after this that looks sane compared to this mad-cap money grab. I fear he may be correct.
