The only private company I’d ever trust to run our healthcare system is Costco.

It will coincide with the release of Trump's healthcare plan and the final triumph over Iran.
Sean Duffy says his roadtrip reality show will come out in "maybe two weeks" 🙃
Big training hike tomorrow — prepping for my backpacking trek later this year. I’ve got the snacks…and yes, those are lucky charms. 🦄
Today we are cross-training indoors because running outside in this heat absolutely kills me 😩
Summer staycation book #1 — 10/10; one of my favorites this year. Essential social science fiction of the best sort. Eerie and a total page-turner.
Halfway through my treadmill run (first in a long time) and I forgot how nice it is to just set the pace and zone out to Metallica Not pictured: a huge bag of nerds clusters 🤣 got some interesting looks from my fellow gym-goers #runchat
Niche complaint of the day: I’m tired of everything requiring a membership, subscription, or monthly fee. Just let me buy the thing ONCE and then leave me alone. Today I was prompted to join a membership to purchase SOCKS. Please just let me buy the thing and leave me in PEACE
I broke my promise not to use the oven during this heat wave to make this Portuguese chicken and fries by simple home edit. 200/10, no notes. Would break my oven hiatus for this recipe again in a heartbeat.
When people complain about food in Denver, I refer them to el taco de Mexico. 🇲🇽 😘

www.recipetineats.com/thai-chicken... Made this tonight for the first time. SO GOOD. We served it over rice with some steamed veggies. 🥦

Knocked out my long run early enough to beat most of the heat, followed by an amazing lunch, a long shower, and a few errands and chores. Now comes my favorite part: lounge time. There’s something so satisfying about earning a Sunday afternoon where you can do absolutely nothing.
POV: you just smashed some Alabama BBQ. An allman brothers cover band is playing. You’re sipping sweet tea watching the sunset. Life is good. 🍗
Building back up to my pre-injury pace! Feeling hopeful about my race coming up in just 8 short weeks 😅 #RunChat

By a 6-3 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed that all people born in the United States are granted full citizenship. That 3 Justices seem to be unwilling or incapable of a plain reading of the 14th Amendment is a worrying sign for future decisions of this highly politicized Court.
After a record low snowpack this winter and a 1,200 year megadrought, the West is already in the midst of a catastrophic fire season. This is a climate emergency. The Trump admin needs to quit firing Forest Service staff and send FEMA resources to our communities in need. We need action NOW.
This has been the most dreaded summer in recent memory. We’ve had what’s felt like a year-long spring and summer season, with record low moisture, high winds, and basically zero precipitation. My heart breaks for these firefighters and their families.
Heartbroken by the loss of three U.S. Wildland Fire Service and U.S. Forest Service firefighters killed battling wildfires along the Colorado-Utah border. My thoughts are with their families, fellow firefighters, and the two injured now recovering.
Beautiful evening on the back porch with my pup and a great book. No place I’d rather be. 😌
A4: Handheld hydration with electrolytes. I started carrying it in this training block after my sports dietitian told me that not hydrating properly likely led to my recent stress injury.
#RunChat Q4: What's one piece of summer running gear you can't run without? (Hat, sunglasses, handheld bottle, cooling towel, sunscreen, etc.)
A1: my fueling strategy. The heat kills my appetite, which makes it hard to fuel during and after runs. My go-to lazy solution is post-run chocolate milk until my body cools down. 😋
It's time for a summer-themed #RunChat! Q1: What's your biggest challenge this time of year?
A5: if it’s AM, definitely a breakfast burrito and iced coffee. If PM, a cookie ice cream sandwich
#RunChat Q5: What's your favorite post-run summer treat? Ice cream, popsicle, watermelon, pizza, or something else?
I expected this week to be a doozy, but after meeting multiple deadlines, redoing a budget proposal completely due to multiple errors, serving as a juror in a local trial, and having to take Penny to the vet ER again this morning — I’m absolutely spent, and 5:00 pm today can’t come soon enough
Public comment is open through July 13. Nonprofits, private citizens, and anyone else who’s concerned (all of us should be) have a responsibility to oppose these changes and add their dissenting voices to the record. (This is my opinion; not necessarily my employer’s.)
