*NEWS* Georgian treasures unearthed beneath Bath Assembly Rooms @nationaltrust.org.uk is transforming Bath Assembly Rooms & as part of this work, investigations overseen by Wessex Archaeology have uncovered a fascinating collection of objects hidden beneath the building, which first opened in 1771.

Today marks the centenary of the National Trust's acquisition of the Coldrum megalithic monument, as a memorial to grocer-archaeologist Benjamin Harrison (d. 1921). As the Kent & Sussex Courier reported, the monument “was dedicated to the public use” at an afternoon ceremony on Sat 10 July 1926 🧵
