#NBAHindsight No. 5: Only trade draft capital for underpaid/overperforming players. The last four Finals teams had underpaid players. It's tough to win big without them in an apron league. The draft is the main source of underpaid players. Thus, only trade draft assets to add such a player.
#NBAHindsight No. 4 Optionality is a dumb word. You may have options. You may have flexibility. You don't have or need optionality. Stop endumbnifying the community, NBA decision-makers!

#NBAHindsight No. 3: The “we were just sick of the guy” era continues: Luka shipped for AD Ja Morant shipped for Grant Jaylen Brown shipped for Paul George Deandre Ayton shipped for Hardy The main motivation for each team shipping the better player appears to be personalities, not talent or $$.

Hindsight 1: With the aprons, we don’t need the cap. The NBA has four spending barriers: The Cap, the Tax, the 1st Apron, and the 2nd Apron. The Cap has proven utterly ineffective; that’s why we have the other three. Meanwhile, transactions/contracts are unnecessarily complex. Kill The Cap.

So we've reached the point where I'm relieved when a ball player gets indicted for old-fashioned fraud. Nothing to do with manipulating the game or player stats. Nothing to do with gambling. Just lying and cheating people out of money. Whew!
Kind of a weird world where Boston overvalues future pics and the Lakers undervalue them. If you're the Lakers, you can say Kessler turns 25 this month. If you're Boston, you can say George has played more games than Kessler over the last 4 years, or last 3 years, or last 2 years, or last year.

Are we sure that OKC is doing this right? They are losing depth and will have another cycle next year. They could trade JDub for a lot of assets. That solves the money crunch for the next several years and you keeps that depth.
