Doing my best to charge through this dissertation chapter on post-World War II white American religious nationalism along with its extreme manifestations in the Christianity Identity movement. Researching and writing about it then is painful when it is still so evidently alive today.

Still processing the testimony that I heard in church yesterday that William Bradford was a "Ephraimite" and so when he met Samosest, (from "Manasseh"), they were "two long lost brothers" whose long-awaited reunion set off a chain of divinely inspired events leading to the founding of the USA.

It was fun being interviewed by @npr.org. The most interesting thing I take away from all of this is how Friberg’s Mormonism has been completely scrubbed by the Museum of the Bible and the foundation that loaned it the painting.

Salt Lake Tribune: Johnson has argued that separation of church and state is “misunderstood,” and that “the founders wanted to protect the church from an encroaching state, not the other way around.” Is that why there is an establishment clause, Mike? And what "church" are you referring to?
