In positive news, colleagues at @mctd.bsky.social with @bda.org.uk have published this excellent set of recommendations to warn against the unrelenting tide of AI services that don’t account for BSL’s rich culture and diversity, and the risk it has in initiatives not being Deaf-led.

I’m profoundly sad to say that as of today, I’ll no longer be able to do my job as co-artistic director of #Touretteshero because of a recent decision by #AccessToWork to cut my support by 61%. Read & share this post, the hardest I've had to write: www.touretteshero.com/2025/05/23/a... 1/4

Really nice to speak to Debika Ray for this piece on access and architecture, and about our upcoming show. Also features some amazing folks such as the Poppy Levison, Amanprit Arnold from Deaf City Hub, Chris Laing from Deaf Architecture Front and DisOrdinary Architecture.

You think this is me being excited about the exhibition sign going up (I am!) but actually I was showing exactly where the large quantity of plane tree pollen was rushing in to attack me.

A large wooden sign hangs between two pale marble columns above two closed black doors. On the sign reads in fuschia pink ‘Design and disability’.

I’ll be speaking with artists and designers from the Design and Disability show on 7th June at Great Exhibition Road festival - Kaiya Waerea, Finnegan Shannon and Arjun Harrison-Mann. Free! BSL interpreted, live captions, wear a mask! www.greatexhibitionroadfestival.co.uk/event/design...

Design and Disability - The Great Exhibition Road Festival
