Kusto-loco v1.4.7 is now available. Copilot taught me a new KQL trick to extract selected fields from a JSON dictionary which is pretty neat!
When the story of why humanity didn't stop climate change is written, it will feature front pages like this. Even as the skies blacken with climate change-induced wildfires, right wing media continue their relentless crusade against measures to tackle it.
There's something very satisfying about using KQL in a powershell script to generate charts in Windows Terminal... github.com/NeilMacMulle...
Awesome ! Now I have no excuse not to port lokqldx !
Avalonia 12 support was added to Mapsui 5.1.0-beta.7 🎉We had quite some requests for this. Can I have some cheers from the Avalonia community?! Release notes: github.com/Mapsui/Mapsu... @avaloniaui.net @neilmacmullen.bsky.social
BBC caption: "The number of red kites in the UK has increased by 2,464%" I love red kites but using % to represent multiples > 1 and then using 4 significant figures is just daft. I suspect the number has multiplied by around 24.5 (not 25.5) but anyway.. wonderful photo by Mark Hopkins!
I finally got round to resurrecting the "copilot" support in lokqldx (with the help of github copilot!). I'm actually pretty impressed by Claude Sonnet's ability to use KQL behind the scenes to "probe" data from various sources - in this case application-insights. Still WIP but if you want...
Still WIP but with the improvements in recent models I decided to resurrect the "copilot" support in kusto-loco. The aim is to get it to understand how to also use appinsights and remote capabilities as well as local data. #KQL
May Labour finally f-ing learn that appeasing the Far Right is a LOSING strategy
"Labour MPs will be looking at that graph in horror"

We're watching the wholesale burning of every scrap of dignity afforded to trans people in the UK, their rights, their medical services, their employment, their place within society, their bodily functions. It is a disgrace, and a disgusting stain on the government and media of this country.
It's been a while but new Kusto-Loco release. Not a lot of changes in this but it does fix a minor issue with TimeSpan serialisation for Parquet files... #KQL github.com/NeilMacMulle...

I really wanted to believe in the man but I'm reluctantly coming to this conclusion too. A cautious approach before the election was understandable but if you can't act on what you (supposedly) believe *now*, when can you?
Labour should ditch Starmer, give a new PM enough run-up for elections that are still years out, and actually govern with a belief in good policies not racist and self-destructive pandering to the far right.
There we go! Mapsui 5.0.0 was released 🚀🚀🚀 github.com/Mapsui/Mapsu... Mapsui is a map components that supports all main .NET UI Frameworks, like MAUI, Avalonia, Uno. Please retweet 🙏 @avaloniaui.net @platform.uno @jfversluis.dev @vincenth.net @james.montemagno.com @stevebilogan.dev

Good man. Dont back down. Don't let these thugs intimidate you.
Solidarity with all trans and intersex people having their existence debated every time a tv host hasn't done their prep and can't think of any more questions
Haha - great stuff.
"The shadow justice secretary has railed against the lack of integration in parts of Britain. But it’s the ‘flag-bothering patriots’ who don’t want to mix", writes @sarfrazmanzoor.bsky.social. Read their full piece now: https://bit.ly/4mWSYtp
One significant - & dangerous - thing to watch for is professional commentators objecting to words rather than examining the evidence. It's pearl-clutching & cowardly, obviously, but also a deliberate attempt to avoid confronting exactly what they themselves are facilitating and often cheering on.
“You described Reform and other parties across Europe today as among the 'right wing equivalents of the fascists in the 1930s'. Why?” “Because that’s what they are” @vicderbyshire.bsky.social asks Lord Heseltine about remarks he made at Conservative Party Conference. #Newsnight
How pretty is this? Plotting asset journeys using a "pseudo heatmap" on the amazing MapsUI component by @pauldendulk.bsky.social Points are colored using a new "heatmap_color" function in the KQL engine
Kusto-Loco 1.3.8 released. Headline feature is client support for: - Azure Defender (Advanced Threat Hunting) - LogAnalytics - ARG (Azure Resource groups) Lokqldx can not only issue queries to these but also supports 'render' unlike the native APIs github.com/NeilMacMulle... KQL DataViz C#
I know the numbers aren't really meaningful but it'll be nice to hit triple digits... ;-) KQL Kusto Lokqldx
This is very cool and I encourage anyone interested in mapping to check out this amazing library!
Added 'LokqlDx - KQL data explorer' to our showcases page. An Avalonia app this time mapsui.com/v5/projects-... CC @avaloniaui.net
ARG/Defender don't support the render operator afaict but I found a way :-) KQL Kusto lokqldx
HELP WANTED... It has not escaped my notice that a lot of people round here use KQL for something they call "infosec" rather than for drawing pretty charts. Therefore, I have added Defender, Monitor and ARG clients to Lokqldx. However, not being a user myself, I am looking for beta testers...
This guy has to go... I'll freely admit I'm _extremely_ disturbed by seen so many far-right thugs gathered in one place with the world's dimmest billionaire egging them on while our government smile politely and congratulate themselves for rising above it.
Seems like a missed opportunity here to check out how the real experts would approach the trolley problem...
every time there's political violence discourse i think about how jo cox was assassinated in broad daylight by a fascist who shouted "britain first" as he shot her, and now nine years later her party is dedicating every moment in power to placating the ideology of her murderer
