Style study 2/4 - The Legend of Vox Machina. I thought it would be fun and easy to do one of the studies in a more 'conventional' style, but the result is a bit dull compared to the rest, and also it was revealed to me that thin clean lines are the devil. Process details in alt text

I don't have any attachment to the franchise, but I am looking at the trend as a whole - and within it, what saddens me is the "standardization" of the AD for the remakes MGS Delta, Oblivion remake, now OoT - all have slightly different flavors, but a common palette of artistic devices and assets

If you're reading the Elric books and you encounter something that isn't explained in detail, you say "What?" and then "Haha that little scamp" and then you keep reading! That's half the fun! There's a whole world implied that you don't have access to! Which is GOOD!

I think just more nuance, more ambiguity, less neatness/black-and-white thinking, more messiness, more complexity, moving parts, undefined edges. (And readers who don't whine about encountering it, but that's proving too much to hope.)
