When I was at school, I was into design, technical drawing, maths, and technology. I got excellent grades. One day I asked careers advice about architecture. They said "you don't want to do that, it's 7 years' training. Why don't you go work at Coca Cola, it's just over the road."

Once I was walking to an interview and got rounded up by two border collies, that circled round from behind in opposite directions, and before I knew where I was, I had one on each leg, biting down. The owner stood about 50 yards away shouting "kick 'em, lad." 1/2

I once had a huge Alsatian snarling and backing me towards a ditch, while the owner stood about 20 feet away grinning inanely. "He loves people. He just doesn't like your hat. You just don't need to show him you're not scared."

In a suburb where half the gardens are now car parks, I'm holding on. I think this will be a burnet moth, as I seem to have gained a small population. Six years after sewing seeds, I've counted over 30 kinds of wildflower, several kinds of butterfly/moth, various bees, beetles, and dragonfly.
