Super excited to share that I have received the NIMH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence career development grant 🚀. This news has been a long time coming. This recognition gives me deep confidence, not only in myself but also in the research I am pursuing. reporter.nih.gov/project-deta...

Reviewing #papers as a postdoc I checked all their #references. About 25% had #errors (authors, page, title, etc), so I listed some & asked authors to check them all. Things got much better with DOI/automatisation etc, so i stopped. I've just read a MSc thesis where about 1/3 contain errors - #AI!
Fantastic work. @esolomon.bsky.social 🚀🚀
New paper from @stanfordpntlab.bsky.social in collaboration with @coreykeller.bsky.social, @neuro-engineer.bsky.social, Nick Trapp, and Aaron Boes at UIowa! We explored how TMS to the DLPFC changes neural activity in the subgenual anterior cingulate cortex, a key mood regulator. 1/
How far can we push transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for those most in need? Our new accelerated TMS protocol delivers more pulses than has ever previously been reported, enabling a patient to cancel planned deep brain stimulation surgery.
Safety and tolerability of dual-site accelerated transcranial magnetic stimulation treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder and major depressive disorder

Congratulations @esolomon.bsky.social 🚀🚀🚀🚀 so well deserved!! 👏👏👏🎉
Excited to announce award of my K99/R00 "Theta burst modulation of hippocampal-cortical rhythms in schizophrenia," under amazing mentors at Stanford including @coreykeller.bsky.social! We will ask whether hippocampal oscillations can be systematically influenced by stimulation in schizophrenia.
Excellent opportunity for top notch graduate research! 🚀🚀
Open PhD position in the Collaborative Research Center on "Neuropsychobiology of Aggression". The position is located at the Neuroimaging Center (NIC) in Mainz and involves working with Transcranial Ultrasonic Stimulation (TUS) in combination with EEG. Check out bit.ly/43qrDIh
Preprint alert! Check out our latest work in @stanfordpntlab.bsky.social, with @coreykeller.bsky.social @neuro-engineer.bsky.social @esolomon.bsky.social Nick Trapp Aaron Boes (UIowa) 👏
When we use TMS to treat depression, we think it alters neural activity in a deep brain structure known as the subgenual anterior cingulate (sgACC). But this is hard to test directly, until our preprint with @coreykeller.bsky.social, @neuro-engineer.bsky.social, Nick Trapp, and Aaron Boes (UIowa) 1/
Fantastic work by @esolomon.bsky.social @neuro-engineer.bsky.social & team in uncovering a potential way in which TMS can change neural activity in the subgenual cingulate cortex! Implications for TMS treatment in depression

Really proud of this work bridging electrophysiology and neuroimaging of prefrontal cortex! 🚀

Our new paper is out in @braistimjournal.bsky.social "Pulsed inhibition of corticospinal excitability by the thalamocortical sleep spindle" With an amazing team @tobergmann.bsky.social , @ Ulf Ziemann @ Christoph Zrenner @ Prince Okyere & @ Milad Amini www.brainstimjrnl.com/article/S193...
Pulsed inhibition of corticospinal excitability by the thalamocortical sleep spindle
Thalamocortical sleep spindles, i.e., oscillatory bursts at ∼12-15 Hz of waxing and waning amplitude, are a hallmark feature of non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep and believed to play a key role in m...
