Day 9 of saying nice things about biology I can think of nothing that illustrates the molecular nature of life better than the Punnett Square! While most traits are non-Mendelian, this made me realize that the mysteries of life, though complex, were knowable!
Day 8 of saying nice things about biology, I actually really enjoyed learning biochemistry back in the day. A molecular understanding of biology cannot exclude biochemistry, after all. If you want to know "why molecules be like that" - you gotta deal with chemistry.
Day 7 of saying nice things about biology. Phage. If they were a work of fiction, you'd give props to the artist for having such a unique, compelling design. Looking at EM images of them is weirder still because these things ACTUALLY exist - hunting bacteria that potentially hunt you.
Day 6 of saying nice things about biology. Chemotaxis is a bit like seeing some closely guarded secret. It's easy to describe movement as "intelligent and motivated", but at the cellular level, movement actually follows some simple rules - follow that scent!

Day 5 of saying nice things about biology I'm amazed at the extent to which we actually do understand embryonic development. Sure, there's a lot we don't know about what's going on here, but considering the cell fate of every cell in c-elegans has been mapped, I'd say that's a good start.
Day 4 of saying nice things about biology. Learning that our mitochondria are powered by these weird little turbines in the form of ATP synthase opened my eyes to the fact that beneath the mystery of life is just fancy little legos - molecular machines!
