"Why is the soul they claim treated as a request instead of a right?" is a line so perfect I was sure it had to be quoting someone, or paraphrasing. A search around and... I think it just might be a Chiitan original. God damn.
Love has never needed permission from labels 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 My emptiness of gender lets me see that clearly. Anxiety tightens around transgender lives right now. Why must their chosen bonds still pass through someone else’s gate? Why is the soul they claim treated as a request instead of a right?

Last night I finished all the hard parts of a modern refit of a Hori's Fighting Stick SS, a slim Sega Saturn joystick. It now features all new buttons, joystick mech, etc. It was a hugely satisfying project and it all worked without any big surprises. =D
A strip done in collaboration with the @humanartistry.bsky.social , starring Question Hound as he gets some unwanted help for a comic he’s working on:
Some banger games in here, all to support those people recently laid off and struggling to stay afloat. A Short Hike, Arranger, Atomic Owl, Cycle, Dead Finger Dice, Elephantasy Flipside, Horizon Vanguard, Lucah: Born Of A Dream, Magenta Horizon, Nekomancer of Nowhere, Psychroma, Skatebir and more.
In response to the unprecedented number of game developers laid off this year, we have created a bundle on itch to benefit a Game Industry Hardship Fund, managed by @videogameworkers.bsky.social. More than 100 games for 10+ bucks! Please share widely and donate generously! itch.io/b/3802/game-...
I put together a guide to making a flip switch for CRT monitors, when the game wants to be oriented the other way but you don't feel like rotating the whole heavy beast, nor do you want to reach into the hurty electric death zone to flip the plugs. It's fairly easy, and cheap!
I love me some Seimitsu controls, but their KEIKOU buttons (and possibly more of their PS-15 buttons, and who even knows where this ends TBH) have a manufacturing artifact that prevents smooth movement when the button is pressed off-centre. Here's the fix.
The cover of Crazy Train I didn't know I needed. =D www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTov...
MiSTer developers making FPGA cores last year: We ran a lot of tests on a real board, manufactured chips to speed up development, and now our cores are damn near perfect. This year: I used claude to convert a PDF and then cranked out three new cores over lunch. It's all so fucking boring now. =(
Following up on my recent 24mm/30mm button reducer, I made a 30mm/24mm button increaser. I do not expect this to be quite as popular. Put this on your 24mm control panel and put a 30mm button in the top! It's perfect! 😜
I wrote a review of the Haute42 Hautepad C-AS joystick. It's a work of art, with a box full of RGB lights and customizability. Which it needs, because the 26mm height requires a lot of bespoke parts you can't swap with other brands. Check it out.
I needed to use a 24mm button, but didn't have any 24mm panels handy, so I made a 30mm reducer. It's 3D printed, snaps into place, and works great! Tested with Sanwa, Qanba, Seimitsu, Crown, and Hayabusa. Download for free, use for good or evil.
I did not know that Hori helped create the original Famicom controller! They're still my favourite controller maker. I must have at least 30 different devices they've made.
Horinouchi is still the CEO of Hori 31 years later...think I have a Hori Fighting Stick for my Saturn somewhere. Also...just realized dude probably named the company after the first part of his name?
Someone bought some of my arcade accessories, and I shipped them to their country where they've been stuck in one of their processing depots for a month. The buyer is asking for me to re-ship or refund the purchase, and I'm refusing because postal delays are out of my control. 1/
First draft of a 24mm button panel for a mini arcade stick. The plan is to make a modular design so I can swap out panels and parts easily.
I've been working on stands for my joysticks, so they can be arrayed on a shelf without taking heaps of space. They're designed to be printed easily, using very little filament. Not sure if try to sell them or just release them. Some of them took a lot of work!
Game devs doubling as artists should follow Chris for great advice about making art well, and quickly. He's been making game graphics for decades. And he's a nice guy too!
Using simple Vector Shapes to sketch I love to combine vector design tools and pixel art. The vector tool allows quick creation with basic shapes and very easy editing. It makes it a lot easier to recycle art in order to create variations.
And why not another one for #portfolioday ! Who wants milk steak?! Love these girls and this audio always has me cracking up 😭 #indieanimation
every story of people finding genAI useful sounds like a variant of “lifting weights at the gym was annoying and made me sore until I started using a car jack now I can bench so much more” or “when I cook, I imagine what I’m going to make, plan it out in my head, then use the ubereats app to…”
The things you find when you're tidying up. NOS Twin Famicom pad NOS Sanwa USB pad NOS Nintendo Famicom pad Planned to put the USB pad's PCB inside one of the other two and never got around to it.
@vivaldi.com , the world's best browser, updated today, and because it's based on Chromium my adblocker, UBlock Origin, no longer works. Vivaldi has a built-in blocker which is pretty good, but it's a bit rough and misses some things. Thanks, Google, for fucking this up for all of us.
I've been working on a big project that has a lot of poorly documented parts, so I've been documenting! Here's some pinouts for Sega's JVS boards!
In Japan, c.2000, a building in Oomiya had a prominent 'JST' logo on the top. In 2026 I only know JST as Japan Solderless Terminal, they make connectors. But this building said "Jump, Speed, Thanks!" It's gone now, I can't find anything about it. I'd love to know what it was. ^__^
