1/ You might assume that investigative journalists are cynics. In reality, we’re optimists. We immerse ourselves in the details of harm and abuses of power because we believe that once people know the truth, they will demand better. And they do.
Another reminder: if there exists *any* class of people who don't have due process rights, then *nobody* actually has due process rights because the government can always just say you're in that class.

They turned her over to ICE, who shackled her & took her an hour away. Even after a lawyer convinced ICE of the woman's citizenship the sheriff says they did no wrong
I think whoever is explaining the rules spends way too much time discussing the (D) and the (R)s and forgot to mention that in the end, politics is a co-op game.

Like 75% of the US Olympic curlers are from Minnesota. A lot of them curl out of two clubs in Saint Paul, one club is in Frogtown, a neighborhood that has been very heavily targeted by ICE. These curlers are good neighbors.
