Lunch. I should be recovered from this weekend just in time for next year’s festival.
And a little English Beat to wrap up the evening.
I like Catbite more and more each time I get to see them. & I’ve seen them a lot!
Arrived just in time for Dan Pothast’s impromptu acoustic set!
Descendents always put on a great show. Although it was our first time at Anthem & I think it’ll have to be a bucket-list show to get me back there.

At National Harbor checking out the Shuaijiao competition. Couldn’t convince any students to compete this year. First time ever at a competition as a spectator rather than a competitor or coach. Kinda weird!
Thanks for the amazing prints @drewejohnson.bsky.social! It was a hectic morning, so I didn’t have a chance to chat more, but I really appreciate you bringing these in!

Very fun exhibition showcasing the work of Ryoko Kui. We really liked Delicious in Dungeon & it was cool to get to see some of her earlier work.
The stamina of these guys were as impressive as the music. I don’t think they stopped playing for more than a few seconds at a time during the whole set.
Really fun show with Super Guitar Bros. And they are just amazing musicians, too. As a newbie guitar player, my hands were cramping just watching them play!
It’s been 2 years since we moved & packed up all the art. We can’t put things on the walls of our current place, so it has just been stored some place out of the way at the studio. I finally decided to dig some things out & put on my office walls. Love these two originals from @rianbowart.com!
Finally got my Chrissie Zullo Uminga sketch framed. I’m a terrible mat cutter, but it still looks great & I’m excited to finally get it up on my wall!
We were up in the nose-bleeds, but this was still such an awesome event.
Comic book artist/writer and film director Marjane Satrapi has passed away at only age 56. Her autobiography comics are a deeply personal and engaging account of the 1979 Iranian Revolution from the perspective of a kid who justifiably does not get the new strict religious rules.
1st day at the Course ReDesign Academy comes to an end. So much info & so many great ideas. I’ll be unpacking these 2 days for a long time.
It’s a new episode of Comic Tropes! Talking about an artist whose detail blows me away - Bilquis Evely. Here’s a deep dive into her history and techniques: youtu.be/vRm4oXrKPnw

I stumbled on Terry Pratchett as a teenager working in a library - couldn't figure out why I had to shelve those books constantly, read one, figured it out. Decades later and he holds up great. The watch books pulled me in first, nowadays bopping my way around the witches.
