Finally gave Bloodsport Gambler a try. As a solo game, it does not pull punches at all. 2-player is also a furious time. So many ideas to mine here for other games though.

These three games I just picked up today. They’re like a collection of what has been and is possible in #ttrpgs. Also got to recommend some folks Michael Korns’ Modern War in Miniature as they’re actually making a version of that game without knowing it. It’s been a neat day for games things.

Finally giving the #boardgame Bloodsport Gambler a try. For a solo game, it offers some pretty intense fun. Four two players, it’s super fascinating. I wonder about combining two sets for 4 players. It has a really interesting use for random secret info that should be used more often in games.

Long ago, I swore I’d never talk about things I didn’t experience or do first hand. It’s worked out ok aside from internet discourse and working with churn focused academics. Starting my 10thish life if we go by career changes. It isn’t always happy but I’m always learning new things. it’s nice!

Been enjoying a #wargames mystery started on a comics forum. Seems this game was maybeade by someone on the HMS Malaya and they got to the point of selling and advertising. So many games during this time are gone hit curious if anyone has seen a copy?

We have an opening in our Psychology department for an Assistant Professor of Cognitive or Social Psychology. I've been told they are open to cognitive science candidates, and we'd be happy in CS to collaborate with such a person!

I’m redeveloping a course that was devoted to, “how does ms office work” into a communication pipeline course that takes a tour of a ton of different tools. To call it difficult is an understatement. How do you overcome the, “that’s not how it works in word” problem? Paradox of the Active User.

Been piecing together a game focused on figuring out how to survive while pinned under rubble. I want to offer different ways to examine design extensibility or ways that we could design things to enhance survivability in various conditions.

Been setting up a series of projects for myself to really push on what sorts of designs I can actually do. No papers, no publication intent, just design. Super excited.

Today is the last day for me in academia. Honestly, my last day was in March of 2020 but I thought I could find joy l…somehow. I met a few of my original mentors last month. Super supportive. Working to live is now the order of the day. What comes next for work will be neat though…
