Sunday 26th July I will be on BBC Guernsey and BBC Jersey after the news at 11am. This month I will be talking to Jim Delbridge about the history of lighthouses in the Channel Islands. As usual I will manage to shoehorn some German Occupation related facts in amongst the other history!
Another 5 star review for my book “Tides of Defiance”. Thanks to everyone who has provided feedback on the book. 🙏. If you want a copy it is available from Writer's Block Guernsey , Amazon or Barnthorn. Loving the feedback, and have even found a few more relatives of those that escaped!

1. Since December, CNN and CNBC have promoted Kalshi to viewers extensively, frequently vouching for its accuracy. The existence of a financial relationship between the networks and Kalshi, however, is disclosed to viewers inconsistently. w/@atrupar.com
Busy old day! Recorded the first of two episodes of Islands At War August 1944 podcast, edited it, wrote a pitch for a history project I have been invited to be involved in, wrote an article, gym, walk, and spent a quality few hours chatting to Sally. All in all a cracking day to end the weekend.
Another lovely review for my book “Tides of Defiance” 🙏 thank you. Available on Amazon wherever you are or from @barnthorn.bsky.social .

I’m not far off finishing it? Really good. I’ve put a five star review on Amazon 🙂
Rather chuffed with the latest reviews of my book. 🙏 available from Amazon.
For those that accuse us in the Channel Islands of not pulling our weight during the two world wars some sobering stats. Especially if you consider total population 1914 was 92,000, Total population and circa 93,000 in 1939. So 13.5% and 11.2%. Quite a voluntary contribution.
I will be on @BBCGuernsey and @BBCJersey tomorrow morning just after 11am talking about my book. It is available from @writersblockgsy @barnthorn or Amazon. Find out about those that risked all to escape the Channel Islands during the German Occupation.
