At some point all AI’s out there will get too $$ to use daily. As most apps do over time with enshitification. So these AI guys will have destroyed their ability to do things on their own, and will be forced to pay $$$ just to keep writing their LinkedIn posts that get 5 likes. like GG bro I guess

Turned in copy edits on my latest book this week so I should probably remind people I have a book coming out later this year. It’s called ETERNITY’S TOMB and it answers the question we’ve all asked ourselves: what if we were robbing a space tomb heading for a black hole?! dmoren.com/writing/eter...
With the KoL series, I always included a quote when I signed any books in person and I’d like to continue that trend with my new book, but oh man choosing a single quote is so hard because I love so many of them
The cover reveal for TERMINA STATION by @sagapressbooks.bsky.social ! Releasing 2/23/27 Right now, it’s getting pitched as a fantasy/horror mash up of Ray Bradbury/Joe Hill Cover Illustration was by Philip Harris, and then Cover Deisgn by Zach Bokhour
I pride myself on my novel’s first lines, and one of the projects Im working on didn’t have the right one. It was ok, not great. But I’ve come up with a fantastic one today, and it should set the tone and voice for the entire novel wonderfully.
A handful of years ago Nick was “the future of epic fantasy” w/Mercenary King trilogy. Starts w/ THE KINGDOM OF LIARS. Is great. Now, curtain rises on Act II, w/ Nick’s editor comparing him to Ray Bradbury. Different comps, same great Nick. TERMINA STATION will have you missing your train stop.
So, I’ve got a new book coming out from Saga Press soon 😁

Should have something to announce this weekend, which is cool and fun and exciting, and also like ‘oh man this book I’ve been working on for a long time is about to be REAL.’
Social media is beset by a tidal wave of publishing misinformation, fuelled by bots and platform-farming and algorithms that favour outrage. With special guest Donyae Coles, Sunyi and Scott discus how on earth we can walk the line between being honest, while not fueling an atmosphere of misery.

idk guys when i see a lot of similar headlines insisting that editors & authors are all already embracing AI, i don't assume these things are true. i assume there are a lot of very rich people with an unpopular product pushing a particular narrative in my industry!
I really enjoy the later editing process of a novel where it’s kind of like dealing with a house of cards. Already steady and strong so every edit is carefully done, and while it takes longer than just dumping words—the book comes out so strong afterwards Anyway, I really like my next book
I’ve got a new book coming out soon, the first in a bit for me, and I’m already starting to feel the pre-release nerves as it becomes more REAL. Esp since it doesn’t fit neatly into an established genre as my previous work did. This leans more toward ghibli esque horror than epic fantasy…
Just in time for tonight’s Oscar festivities, my Ten Best of 2025. Right this moment, I’m posting with the films listed, and I’ll be going in to add comments to each entry later, and will re-post when finished. There’s one movie to rule them all from 2025, and that’s Sinners. boxd.it/TewnU

As I finish up edits for my next book, it’s kind of alarming to see how much my style has changed since I wrote the Kingdom of Liars in my early 20s. I genuinely don’t think you could tell they were written by the same person. And there’s a part of me that can’t help but want to…
I’ve just come up perhaps the stupidest and silliest thing to include in my latest novel—odds are the idea dies on the vine or with a stern ‘No’—but if it doesn’t it’s going TO BE SO COOL Man days like this are why I love writing

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.
Something in dev edits that should’ve taken 30 minutes to fix suddenly became a much bigger problem that I don’t have an immediate answer for—which is great I found it now—but c’monnnn
I genuinely have never understood why people wants to be writers if they hate the act of writing. Like yeah it’s cool to have a book done and have people read it, then talk about it to you, but I LOVE to write. To get better at the craft, to try out new things, to create stupidly.
Sometimes I wonder if our many years of jokes about writers hating writing and doing anything but writing, etc, have convinced people that the writing part is the hurdle and the goal is just to have a thing in hand. But I am here to tell you: the writing is the best part. The act is the thing.
