Maybe you’re not the audience for smut. But be clear eyed that Kickstarter TOS, payment provider TOS, book laws in Alberta, these are all fascist foundations for even more insidious intrusions into the things we take for granted.

Hey sharks, can I be so fekkin real for a second? For the last three years, my friend and I have made a podcast that I spend so much time on editing. We talk about comics, uplift them, analyze them etc. Can I ask you to spread the word? Please? @theartofpod.bsky.social

Plein air season is almost upon us. I'm always a little FOMO about April when all the plein air artists I admire are out there painting the spring colours. Where I live we don't get much green til the end of the month and it can still be too cold for wimpy old me. Here's some of last year's fun.

gouache painting of a early 20th century brick school house roof detail. A brick gable with three inset windows and ornate cement moldinggouache painting of the back of a blue burger shack backdropped by big trees and a grassy sand dune in the foregroundGouache painting of a storm drain discharge through sand dunes, flanked by large concrete blocks. Storm drains are so cool. Why are storm drains so cool?Gouache sketch of nasturtium flowers and their round leaves.

I was on holiday yesterday and they had the CBC broadcast of the game in the resort theater which was filled with Canadian and American tourists. the camera cut to Gretzky sitting in the stands and the Canadian half of the theater let out a suppressed groan. Like an icky jump scare.

I literally cannot beat this boss after two weeks. I give up. And I dunno why I feel so irrationally sad about this. A lovingly crafted, challenging game made by actual humans who care so much about every detail. This should be a slam dunk top ten for me, but I feel completely alienated by it.

Here’s my hot take that is totally fresh and original and no one’s ever brought up and I came up with it all by myself. Games like Hollow Knight, Silksong and FromSoftware titles could ship with an easier difficulty and it would take nothing away from players who love a hard game.
