Despite checking boxes, confirming cancelation and declining offers begging him to stay, my father has to speak to Ionos on the phone before they will cancel his sub-par email service. Funny they don't insist on a phone call to sign up 😒

Folks, you don't need AI to check color contrasts. You also don't need AI, to get suggestions for colors that pass the contrast ratio. It's pure, good, old math formula. Not everything needs to be "AI". Also, here are many, color contrast tools and more to help you build accessible color palettes:

When I first stated working in International Development, this is was one of the first things I remember being impacted by. In those days it was via a Gall–Peters projection map we had on the wall in the office.

One of the most common criticisms of the Mercator map is that it exaggerates the size of countries nearer the poles while downplaying the size of those near the equator. With this tool, you can play around and compare the actual size of countries: www.thetruesize.com/

CSS Tip If you want to hide an element that has no children, it's tempting to reach for :empty. However, :empty doesn't work how you'd expect if there's white space or text nodes inside the element. Instead, use this: .your-element:not(:has(:first-child)) { display: none; }

From the perspective of Brit, it's shocking watching the goings-on in the US. Is the strategy just to burn down much of what made America great? It makes no sense. I dearly hope it's the wakeup call we need as Europeans.

Wishing all the best to those working for NGOs and local partners affected by the immediate pause of USAID funding by the Trump administration. Inconsequential in the grand scheme, but we just has some work cancelled as a result. The client described the action as feeling like the 'nuclear option'.

Never in my years around WordPress have I seen so many folks who build sites for clients openly musing about possible alternatives. The leadership may no longer care for 'the community' or 'the ecosystem', for whatever reason, but it's these two factors that, IMO, give WP its superpowers. It's sad.
