Tonight I made chicken soup from scratch and fresh bread. It’s a specialty—“pain sans recette”. Y’see, I mismeasured ingredients and only caught it after first proof period. :P So I added liquid until it felt right and a long knead to smooth out lumps. Saved it! Caraway seeds for flavor. #ChefRat

Fursuit (& general) crafting tip: Keep a “discard” box during a project. Toss in all your first draft pieces, patterns you don’t plan to keep, scraps, etc. Nothing you *intend* to use but it’s there for reference if you need to check back! Empty the box when project is fully done. :) #FursuitMaker

Cardboard box filled with paper and tagboard pattern pieces, muslin from pattern draping, tape pattern from head, first versions of foam pieces and so forth. Not organized but available if needed with a bit of digging :)

I finished today’s chore: sweeping the roof. Removed leaves and dislodged all the mosses so the summer sun can proper dry it. genuinely curious: is this a thing where you live too or just a Pacific Northwest necessity?

I baked babka! This is a family favorite. One loaf is chocolate swirl and the other is cinnamon (with a touch of nutmeg and allspice). And if you’re wondering whether this recipe contains lamb, no, you’re confusing this with baa-bka. ;) #ChefRat
