Q for fellow ECRs, when and/or how did you decide to leave or stay in academia? Looking for any/all reflections :) [Disclosure: prompted by an email notifying me it will take at least 6 weeks to hear if I am shortlisted for a job due to volume of applicants. A fun reminder of the state of things]

Spent most of today so far transcribing 6 pages of a sermon and there another 24 to go. So now I am asking myself two questions, why on earth did 17th century sermons need to be so long (rhetorical, I know that I should know this haha) and why did I decide to work with them? πŸ˜…
