What in the... he says. how do you even come up with this stuff? panel 2, jayce who is in the background half asleep on top of their work table mumbles an answer with his arm over his face. well. I'm a genius the process is self-evident. panel 3. viktor slams the journal shut, looking unimpressed. serious answer, please. panel 4, jayce does a loong stretch as his partner watches. panel 5 is identical to the previous, but now jayce is shiny and smiley and has sparkles all around. it came to me in a dream, he claims. panel 6, viktor makes a freaked out concerned face. you have to be joking. no, no, a little jayce face in the corner insists. i'm serious, it's real. end of page.

I close my eyes... and if i'm in tune with myself, it's almost as if the arcane comes to me. panel 2, baby jayce lays down on the ground, propped up by his arms. he grins toothily at a sunflower, where a chunky white fairy sleeps. what do you think of my magic, flower buddy? he asks, his huge expectant eyes on the creature. panel 3: the fairy awakens, and all color drains from the picture, becoming fleshy pale. the flower wilts. the fairy has no face, and looks more like a larva shaped after mage viktor's disguise in the apocalypse. from the dark hooded chasm in its face, a blue rune glows. it chants dark words jayce cannot read. panel 4, back in the real world, jayce is smiling wide, covered in hearts. Behind him, viktor is scared shitless. his body is shaking with heebie jeebies. ...and that's how you come up with the mystery runes? he asks, in disbelief. and that's how i figured out some of those mystery runes, jayce replies, enamored with the process. pretty awesome, huh? end of page.
