“Nah, I’ll just read while you watch your sports stuff.” Book clubs seemed like a thing old married couples did. And they were still taking things slow.
Isn't she just an angel? "Wanna do a book club?"

"Half the fun of being a cat burglar was the thrill of it all. But ever since that idol cursed me with spider-powers, that's all gone. Everything's too easy now." MVRP 25+
“Nah, I’ll just read while you watch your sports stuff.” Book clubs seemed like a thing old married couples did. And they were still taking things slow.
Isn't she just an angel? "Wanna do a book club?"
"Now you're getting it." She's even going to politely ignore the football. "It's also perfect reading season." While he does his sports thing, she can read a few novels about unrealistically sized Fairy-wangs and stuff.
"Cider. Gordy crunching through leaves." It's not so bad, really. There's football, too.
“We love pumpkin spice season. Even if we hate stuff in our coffee.” The Royal ‘we’. “Know what else that means?” “Boo Baskets. Snuggling under blankets. And scented candles.”
Nearly pumpkin spice season already? Oh no.
“Well in that case, I’ll pack lightly.” And see how offensive they could get in a hot tub.
"Private enough." Flash smiles up at her a touch wolfishly. "I'm not that worried about offending some snobs."
"Oh? Private jacuzzi, is it?" "Just so I know how many bikinis to pack. Or to not pack, depending on the answer."
"Yes and yes." Pressing a kiss to the top of her hand. "With a jacuzzi, even."
“Really?” She would have never expected him to go and do something like that. “Is there a pool? And is it dog friendly?”
"Scoring us a rental place in the Hamptons for a week." He looks very chuffed with himself.
“See! I knew it was a sports ball thing!” “Now I’m going to make you suffer through Flash Gordon.” @monevitna.bsky.social
Her inner cat wants to bat at them A single finger does so "What you been upto, huh?"
Wheeling up to @night-spider.bsky.social jingling keys.
“Sorry, sorry. I was busy facing off against Temu Dormamu.”
Ooooh, coffee! She might stop what’s she doing to actually drink it. Fingers flying across the keyboard of her laptop, she glances over quickly, offering a small smile. “Good walk?”
Early morning walk with Gordy, returning with coffee for @night-spider.bsky.social.
"Which one? The grumpy one, the pervy one, or the one who gets confused over how to cross a road?" That sort of answered her own question-- none of them!
"You should talk to Ant-Man about that."
"I don't feel like saving the city tonight, you got plans?" @monevitna.bsky.social
"Someone should really study population growth and densities and stuff. It's probably directly linked to global warming."
"There's also always a spider within three feet of you!"
"Remember, you're never alone." "There's mites that live on your skin, in your eyelashes, in your pores and shit." "Really makes you think, huh?"
Three bookmarks for one book. Three. How can I be on three different pages all at once?
“It might be full of Spiders, and Smeter Smarkers, but it also has AC and slush machines.” “And I think I can tolerate a whole lot of puns and self-deprecation if I’m feeling cool and hydrated.” “See ya after this heatwave.”
“Do you need a hammock-shade?” What he needed was someone to fix his AC.
Flash, meanwhile? He's got a cool cloth strapped to the back of his neck. Wrapped around an ice pack. "Go for it, by all means."
“I’m kinda loving it.” It was either the cat, or the spider in her. “Kinda want to build a web and catch the rays.”
It's too hot. @night-spider.bsky.social, it's time to break out the kiddie pool.
“Remember darlings, you can’t get a wax if you’re sunburnt, and you can’t expose a fresh wax to the sun.” “So think before you ditch those bikini bottoms.”
Perfectly glorious day at the zoo with @monevitna.bsky.social It’s just a shame there were so many other people there. “Early night?”
"Whichever one gets us to the front of the queue." Zero morals. None. Nada. "Is it because they stand up and look so interested in everything?" They should stop talking about it and just go.
"Because I'm a veteran, or because of the chair?" She gets a little wink for that one. "Birds swearing -is- pretty funny. I like checking out the meerkats."
“Oh wait, if we go to Disney World, you totally get Fast Pass, right?” Teasing. Kinda. Cuz he would. “Mmmm…. I like the parrots, and the small ones? That do yen bouncing and whistle songs. Birds of prey, too.” “I think birds swearing is hilarious, honestly.”
"Hand in hand on wheel," Flash jokes amicably up at her. "What's your favorite part of the zoo?" This is also a phase they've skipped just a tiny bit: the silly questions. What's your favorite color, how do you feel about pineapple on pizza?
"I'd be so tempted to try sucking on that big straw, you know I would!" There was almost a giggle. Almost. "Zoo could be fun if we get there before it's full of kids. We can wander hand in hand and be disgustingly cute."
"Pottery would be nice. Or glass blowing, if you need a little kick of danger." There's a smile in his eyes. "Could also just try to see more of the city. The parks, the zoo." Ooooh, the zoo would be fun.
Oh, in that case, she'll definitely give him a kick up the arse (sticking with the transatlantic vernacular) "I mean, I wouldn't say no to going out and doing some things with you, Flash." That was the one thing they didn't really do. They mostly just hung out for a few hours here and there. -
No PTSD or depressive episodes, thankfully. Instead, Felicia's gonna have to put up with indecisiveness, doubt. Worrying. Faffing about, to borrow a transatlantic term. But he'll get there. "Is that a hint that we should be going out to more things you're interested in?"
“Ha.” She barked a laugh, snorting lightly and then her head nuzzled him. Eyes closed. “I prefer my freeze dried instant coffee anyway.” Did he mean depressive episodes? Was that what this was about? Or the whole PTSD rollercoaster? Because she knew what she’d signed up for with that. -
"Please, if anyone is going to have a complex about duty it's me." Flash breaths a laugh in to her collarbone, shaking his head ruefully. "I don't want to change a thing about you, Felicia." A slight beat. "Other than how you keep moving the coffee pot." This pause stretches out longer.
Pressing her forehead against his, she drew in a long breath, held it and let it out with a soft growl. Pushing out the tension that had been building inside her. “We both have things we’re dealing with. And that’s okay. Being able to grow ourselves and look after ourselves is a good thing.” -
Her frank honesty gets a smile from him, as ever. "No, I totally get that, Felicia. I don't want to do that to you. That's kinda WHY I'm bringing it up. It might take me longer than I want to get it together, and I don't want you to think I'm putting you in that position any longer
