SWIFT action on an online harm! The sharing of intimate images without consent is wrong and devastating for victims of this type of sexual abuse. I am glad to see that the woman who experienced this abuse was able to get compensation swiftly through the CRT.

We appreciate that BC’s ideas were incorporated in Bills C-14, 16 & 9, making specific changes to the Criminal Code to keep our communities safe

We must do everything we can to ensure the tragedy in Tumbler Ridge never happens again. BC is pursuing legal action to hold OpenAI and its decision makers accountable for failing to take action that could have prevented the tragedy.

Welcome to the world, baby Jack! Born 7 lbs 3 oz on July 6th, guided into the world at 8:42 pm by the amazing team at Lions Gate Hospital. ❤️ Fun Fact: In 2023, Bowinn Ma became the third woman in BC history to give birth as a sitting cabinet minister; she's now the first to do so twice.

Too many people in BC have lost loved ones to and are still struggling with the opioid crisis. That is why we’re taking opioid manufacturers & distributors to court. At every step, we have won the fight to move this case forward & now it heads to trial. I will keep fighting to hold them accountable.

We’ve just signed a landmark, multi-billion-dollar agreement with the federal government that sets BC on a generational path to prosperity.   For too long, British Columbia hasn’t received our fair share. But today, that is changing.

Last September, Chelsey Whittingham and her family suffered the worst trauma imaginable. Maddy, her beautiful, deeply loved, vibrant 13-year-old daughter, lost her life after repeated exposure to harmful content that was pushed on her by a social media platform.

Kuldeep Ahluwalia made the brave decision to seek justice after years of abuse by her ex-husband. Despite every obstacle in front of her, she persevered. Her efforts lead to the SCC creating a new tort for survivors to seek compensation from their abusers in cases of intimate partner violence.

Thank you to the good people of Hazelton and Smithers for hosting us! It was such a joy to meet with passionate community advocates, enjoy the wonderful local restaurants, and celebrate the appointment of a new judge to the Smithers Provincial Court. Can’t wait for my next visit!
