Incredibly well said. The assumption is always that other people will be more honorable than he is and that seems dumb. When you break the public trust and the social contract it tends to stay broken.

Experts argue this is not binding, so breaking it would not violate any rules. But your post brings up for me the larger point, Mr. Trump has benefitted enormously from people, companies, and institutions following the rules he himself never would avoid violating. He use asymmetric ethical warfare.

Guy I lived with took me out to dinner. Then fessed up he had been cheating.. I wish I had done this. Carol Burnett did a skit on that same thing. She grabbed the tablecloth and flipped everything all over the restaurant. Then shouted to everyone what he had done. I just walked out and started home.

This case may seem a trivial example of the weaponization  of the judiciary and corruption of the Felon regime, but it’s not. Full force of Federal Law used and top administration officials, including Sec Interior, were willing to lie to protect Trump’s fragile ego to persecute an innocent man.

Dr. Fauci is a hero. He really is. He helped guide America thru a mass death event. Millions more could have died but they did not, thanks to him. Everyone over 70 owes him a debt. It is disgusting that we live in a country that not only dishonors him but actively smears his good name.
