They're SO MAD that trans people exist
It's clear that most people have no idea what Project 2025 is or that it is in full play now, and removing immigrants is like a spit in the ocean. The plan, remove all the obstacles that stopped Trump 1.0 from becoming our dictator and replace them. DONE Ignore the Constitution- be a dictator
no. I don't think trump does bad stuff to distract from other bad stuff. he does bad stuff because that's what he likes to do.
Trump has also ordered over 220 people killed in extrajudicial strikes on boats without providing any evidence of wrongdoing or even allegations of crimes justifying the death penalty. And he covered up the murder of 2 Minnesotans who were killed by government agents while being videotaped.
Which is why all of this is so frustrating. They've tricked themselves into ignoring the worst aspects of his administration
I think that if you'd said "Trump is going to threaten to invade greenland" or "Trump is going to destroy the east wing of the white house" or "Trump is going to end usaid and kill 14 million people", folks liek douthat would have accused you of trump derangement syndrome and said it wasn't possible
I would say that domestically trump has not consolidated authoritarianism to the extent his worst critics feared, but in foreign policy his record has been exponentially worse than anyone was talking about, short of actual nuclear war. (still a possibility!)
"Trump was not as bad as expected" if you memory hole the arguably worst genocide in US history and arguably the worst military defeat in US history. Those are two big things to memory hole though. and then there's everything else.
So uhhh why did my new housemate make me watch Project Hail Mary at the end of the night? 🥺

Don Lemon Accuses Justice Dept. of Vindictive Prosecution in Church Protest Case
Lawyers for the former CNN anchor asked a judge to throw out the case, saying prosecutors had “acted on the president’s animus by filing unprecedented charges against a journalist for doing his job.”

imagine a future where *we* appropriate the vicious symbolism of ICE in a merciless crack-down billionaires and the MAGA class: fancy production value videos of bashing down their fancy doors, slapping bags over their spray-tanned heads, black helicopters, shattered ugly gold homewares, etc etc
Yes I'm still bragging about my fabulous aunt running in TX for county clerk. She came out of retirement (they asked her to) to flip this seat back to blue from red. You can read more about her story in the thread below. If you can't donate pleases help to amplify her campaign.
I wasn’t joking when I told you she’s a trail blazer. Here’s the story from when she retired. Now you know why they asked her to come back & kick some TX GOP ass😂❤️💪🏾😤 kfdm.com/news/local/t...

We have to defeat fascism forever, guys. I absolutely cannot live in a world where finance bros think they’re cool and have game.
For your consideration: “If you live in the celebrity bubble, party after party, with the same people—the same 25 people—life gets really boring,” said Kevin O’Leary, the businessman and “Shark Tank” panelist. “When you end up with a private-equity guy, your life gets far more interesting.”
The history class I’m about to teach will generate about $130K for the university. As an adjunct with a PhD I will receive under $6K or roughly 4.5%. Two observations: 1. humanities courses are cash cows, defunding them is political not economic! 2. university instructors are grossly underpaid!
Meanwhile, actual academic programs are cash cows for universities. My history classes, for example, generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in university revenue per class per semester.
"Across DI colleges, 94 percent of athletics programs, including 49 of the 69 Power colleges, spent more than they generated in revenue in the 2023–24 academic year. The median college reported a gap of $20.6 million. This gap was larger than the median a decade earlier ($12.3 million)."
Commissioning a transphobic bigot to write an article about a UK academic scandal to somehow indict US higher education (a completely different system about which this case has literally no bearing) for being too woke is peak New York Times brain. Not a great thing, just an unfortunate one.
Who at @nytopinion.nytimes.com decided: “hey, let’s get Jesse Singal to do some racist schadenfreude!” https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/08/opinion/cambridge-plagiarism-arday-higher-education.html
How bad is the economy right now? Based on the latest jobs report... I'm worried.
Chaos agents. We are dealing with chaos agents who are raising money off of grievance politics. We cannot win like that. Its a constant dose of slopulism and buzzwords.

Twenty-five years after the mayor of New York City became the champion of America's grief and resilience at the time of the 9/11 attacks, families of those killed are split on whether the current mayor should attend the annual remembrance. https://cnn.it/4zkKYdc
I'm not sure I agree entirely. shuttering USAID and killing 14 million people was I think at the outer end of carnage people expected from Trump. so was losing a war to Iran. 1
This line from Ross Douthat’s final NYT column is something you see all the time from the soft-MAGA right. Sure, Trump’s *most* alarmist critics weren’t correct, but that’s basically true of every president. Trump’s *median* critic did in fact predict his presidency pretty accurately.
It's curious how often Todd Blanche pops up in the Epstein files. In the withheld files, no doubt it's much more.
