Looks interesting and at least a bit like Solenoid
Three years ago, trying to use Rust for web apps was crazy talk. Today is very different than three years ago. Announcing Topcoat, a batteries-included Rust framework for building reactive web applications: tokio.rs/blog/2026-07...
I’ve been building the component library (like shadcn/ui) for @stylexjs.com the way I’ve always wanted. stylextras.nmn.sh - assumes stylex - simple single file components - built with web features - minimal JS - accessible - theme-able - copy-paste-able
StyleXtras — Native-first StyleX components
Tokenized React components built on modern browser APIs and styled with StyleX.

Can confirm. Works great. Yes: It's nice to test a non-chrome browser to avoid accidentally depending on chrome-only stuff But: it's only available with safari tech preview for now…
Safari MCP is great :D
TIL that Firefox still hasn't shipped this massive improvement to typography feature. Better late than never, but I'll have to be careful about using it :(
Gecko: Intent to Ship: text-box-trim / text-box-edge
Solid-start 2 is impressive but a waste of time because they should put all their time and effort into supporting Solid2 instead. Any new improvements should all focus on Solid2. Solid 2 is so much better than 1 that any delay in making that awesome is a missed opportunity.
The @solidjs.com team is making an amazing job with Solid Start 2. Dependencies have dropped from 479 in v1 to 137 in the last v2 alpha version. And apparently a Rust version of vite-plugin-solid is coming up which would drop all the 50 or so Babel deps.
Best explanation I've seen. But also it doesn't really distinguish from the fediverse which is also just rss with comments. In fact that's probably closer to rss with comments.
atproto: it's rss with comments
The official domain is finally the official handle! To celebrate here’s a running list of known projects using StyleX: - web surfaces at Meta - FB/IG Quest apps via RSD - Figma - Snowflake - Hubspot - Linear - Polar - Mixcloud - Canva - Cursor - @cocore.dev
Vandalism is the correct word. I'm suddenly being punished for using web standards.
if you're using the `interestfor` attribute anywhere, you should know that a bunch of googlers just vandalised your site it looks _atrocious_. leaving aside the merits of the accessibility discussion (github.com/w3c/csswg-dr...), am flabbergasted that it shipped in this state. unbelievably careless

Oh snort that happened fast.
one idea (though it's really only working around the 'DIDs aren't hostnames' issue) would be to use <meta> tags instead of <link>. that's how non-standard-but-widely-understood things like OG images are done, after all feels like the sort of thing to fix now, before problems become widespread
Browser choice on iOS with the increased competition it would bring may create more pressure on Apple to invest in WebKit and keep up. But it could also cause Apple to simply give up like Microsoft did and that would be pretty bad for the web. So for now, it good to see WebKit improving so much!
We're long past the days of Safari only releasing improvements with every iOS update which is why the long list of improvements in Safari 27 is so impressive. webkit.org/blog/17967/n...
And yes, there are many things I wish Apple would do (:cough: browser choice :cough:), but I just want to take a moment and say this is an impressive release. Kudos.
👀 Is this Flow, or TypeScript? Is Flow coming back? - Flow syntax aligns with TypeScript - Flow has pattern matching - Useful React hooks/component/renders syntax - Compiler has been recently ported to Rust I'll keep an eye on it for you, but this is promising!
Despite the artificially inflated hype, and the grifters. Despite how it may negatively affect society. AI has real utility unlike Blockchain. So even if the bubble bursts and things change economically, the technology isn’t going away.
We get to do this with AI soon too 🥰
so you can sort of click around in the corners if you want to learn more random shit, or at the biggest ones to quickly bump your real world %. the ones you learn get flipped but you have to “protect” them (initially often, then they get more stable) according to spaced repetition decay
Also, just having *more* stuff isn’t always better. Stupid proposals have issues and also have an opportunity cost. All of web components was a huge mistake.
Also, the lack of an alternative proposal is not a good reason to ship the half-baked thing.

I sometimes say that Tim Cook is the world’s greatest glue salesman. Here’s why www.wired.com/story/apple-...
Tim Cook’s Legacy Is Turning Apple Into a Subscription
The soon-to-exit Apple CEO went all in on services. Now, the incoming CEO, John Ternus, will need to embrace the AI era.

Everything else aside, these kinds of extremely severe bugs just being ignored for months really paints an absolutely terrible picture for Webkit and Safari. @jensimmons.bsky.social you’re the only person I hope can get this the urgency it needs. adactio.com/journal/22507

How Apple’s penchant for breaking the web has given me more empathy towards developers who are suspicious of the web platform.

This work is so important that I reinstalled Bluesky to support it. Shoutout James and the rest of e18e for their thankless work making the web a better place
Good to see my blog post being enjoyed 😄
Finally getting my shadcn replacement published and here is why i built it:
We have just published a beta dev tools extension for chrome. It’s great for debugging StyleX and also useful for other atomic style solutions. (Mapping styles to source are obviously impossible with Tailwind, however) Please report any bugs! chromewebstore.google.com/detail/style...
StyleX DevTools - Chrome Web Store
Inspect StyleX-applied styles and their sources in the Elements panel.

Liquid Glass was definitely an influence but I think we pulled off something that is significantly better. Specially in hindsight. Liquid Glass has been a disaster.
Happy New Year! An all new StyleX website has just gone live. It's rewritten from the ground up, and is built on: - Waku - Fumadocs - StyleX (obviously) No UI is used from fumadocs, and all the components were re-written with StyleX.
