After thinking about this question all weekend, I think my favorite candidate is the alchemical symbol for air: 🜁 It’s connotes both atmosphere and “transfer”. It’s a standard Unicode character. It references a capital “A.” And it’s very simple, which feels appropriate for a protocol, like 🌐 or 🛜.

Bramus@bram.us · 2mo agoMaybe one thing to clarify here is that this hasn’t shipped. It is _available for testing_ in Chrome _behind a feature flag_ (the Experimental Web Platform Features flag) so that you, developers, can try it out before we actually ship this (unflagged).
In retrospect, this argument was always wishful thinking from React apologists - a last redoubt after every other piece of ground (usability, performance, etc) had been lost to better alternatives. If you can't convince people on merit, try to appear inevitable. Good strategy tbh! For a while anyway

if you're using the `interestfor` attribute anywhere, you should know that a bunch of googlers just vandalised your site it looks _atrocious_. leaving aside the merits of the accessibility discussion (github.com/w3c/csswg-dr...), am flabbergasted that it shipped in this state. unbelievably careless

your token costs: lower your server costs: lower your bandwidth costs: lower not to mention the fact that you'll ship in half the time and tear out less hair in the process. just use @svelte.dev, people. it's like other frameworks but better
