Sakura Wars 2 contains a post-game mode called Long Day that contains a bunch of cool bonus content. One of the small extras I enjoyed was the ability to watch flashbacks of certain scenes through the perspective of the heroines. These include rare sprites of Ogami that you don’t see anywhere else.

Thanks to everyone that has been submitting issues with the Sakura Wars 2 patch to our Google form. However, we've been having some trouble replicating the bugs that are being reported. If possible, please resubmit your issue and also provide a link to your save file. Thank you.

Finished Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die A perfect sequel in practically every way. They took every aspect of the first game that worked and improved upon it, while also simultaneously making some of the weaker aspects of the first game even better. Absolutely fantastic game. Longish thread:

So overall, Sakura Wars 2 is a quintessential example of a perfect sequel. It's just genuinely such an improvement over the first game in every way and it's a near perfect game in my book honestly. VERY VERY great stuff and I highly recommend both this and the first game!

Also shoutouts to the translation team! They did a DAMN good job on this game that I imagine was a fucking nightmare to program and get functioning in a modded state lmao. There's so much love poured into the translation, dare I say as much as was put into the game by the devs.

you have to repost shit like this, because just talking about it makes you sound like an insane conspiracy theorist parroting lies they read on facebook. Like if I told someone this happened, they'd roll their eyes like I was a freak and it'd damage any credibility I had left. you know? #political

New Read Only Memo! This issue is a big one, featuring an interview with @noahsteam.bsky.social and @mattobii.bsky.social about the long-anticipated Sakura Wars 2 fan translation! (And a guest appearance by @cosmicspooks.bsky.social telling you why you really gotta play Sakura Wars)

I was recently asked how you transfer your Sakura Wars 1 save to Sakura Wars 2 on an emulator. So here are some detailed instructions if you are playing the game on Mednafen (which is what we primarily used while testing):

How to transfer your Sakura Wars 1 save to Sakura Wars 2 if you are playing the game on Mednafen:

1.) First start SW2 so that Mednafen generates save files for it (just go to the title screen and then close the emulator). The save files should be in the “sav” folder in Mednafen’s directory.

2.) Make a copy of your SW1 saves (the bcr, bkr, and smpc files) and rename them to the same title as your newly made SW2 saves.

3.) Then simply delete your old SW2 save files and replace them with your newly renamed SW1 files.

4.) You’ll know your save transfer was successful if Yoneda talks about SW1’s ending in the first scene (after you select which heroine Ogami has a special attachment to).

I served as the lead editor on SW2 and it was the most challenging project I've ever been a part of. Translating something of this scale was only possible thanks to all the time and talent each person poured into this patch. So make sure to thank everyone for their awesome work!

The Sakura Wars 2 translation is out!! This project first began almost 4 years ago and now it is finally available for everyone to experience. Sakura Wars is a very special series to me and I'm really excited to see what people think of the game and our work. Hope you enjoy it!

The wait is over! #SakuraWars2 is now playable in both English and Portuguese on the #SegaSaturn! Check out the translated commercials where you can also find links to the download.🧵 @bowloflentils.bsky.social @mattobii.bsky.social @crouchingmouse.bsky.social www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNbi...

Finally played through the first Sakura Wars game. I haven’t played a vn before so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was a lot of fun! I can see why it’s had such a following all these years later.

An update on #SakuraWars2. We thought we could finish it this year, but to ensure a polished finished product, we’re doing another play through to catch any remaining issues we might’ve missed. As mentioned in this thread, the game is fully translated and playable though!

2024 is winding down, so the Sakura Wars 2 translation team would like to share another progress report on our fan patch. Below are some highlight videos and a thread with additional details.🧵 @noahsteam.bsky.social, @mattobii.bsky.social, @crouchingmouse.bsky.social, @justjoqu.bsky.social.

Just finished Dragon Force 2. This game is a hidden gem. It was highly addictive. I couldn’t put my phone down. Having RetroArch available on my phone has made this into the ultimate mobile gaming device for me. I think I’ll finely be able to get through by Saturn backlog.

Finally playing through Dragon Force 2 and I’ve gotta say, this game is great! I recall it being mediocre while working on the patch, but it’s just as fun as the original. The only thing holding it back is the music.
