feels very normal to sit here and watch Quirk hire an entirely new staff after union-busting and laying off 90% of their existing staff last year! meanwhile everyone from my wonderful publishing team there is still looking for work!!! anyway if you’re considering applying for a job there, don’t!

a few weeks ago we joked “should we throw a baby rave at the bookstore?” and now there are a bunch of toddlers wearing glow sticks while dancing to elmo & bruno mars and playing with a cardboard turntable, and it’s THE CUTEST

On the right, beyond the table with the free KN95 masks (masking is required at No Borders), is a display of free stuff that includes #zines and stickers. Zines range in topic from abolition to abortion to mutual aid. As I browsed, I noticed the vibe in the store is welcoming and chill. #Queens #NYC

Walking into No Borders and turning left, I saw on the wall a display of #books that are “staff picks,” along with displays of creations by local artists (buttons, hand-painted bookmarks, mini prints, patches, etc.). A floor-to-ceiling bookcase filled with books is against that wall. #Queens #NYC
