Aspiring physicist, Trekkie, ZX Spectrum aficionado. Knows a lot less than he lets on.

Got some lovely goodies in the post this morning. FreezeZX issue 4, the Star Trek Voyager documentary and bonus disc which I feel like I've been waiting an eternity for, and The Commitments on Blu Ray.

The countdown has begun. This Saturday I will be going to Dublin Comic Con where, among other things, I will finally get to meet the wonderful @ameliatyler.bsky.social, and hopefully chat about Elite Dangerous with her. It's been almost ten years since the Formadine Rift Incident, amazingly.

I love when Star Trek does horror and today's Strange New Worlds was wonderfully spooky. It felt like an even weirder version of Night Terrors, with a bit of Lynchian weirdness thrown in. I still have a lot of questions about what actually happened. ROT13 encoded spoilers below.

It took me more than a year but I finally completed the final puzzle in Blue Prince. Admittedly, I did consult a walkthrough for hints and clues, but it's such an incredibly hard puzzle, I would never have been able to do it myself without outside help. Yippee!

Just finished watching the new episode of Strange New Worlds. That was absolutely brilliant! I have many more thoughts about it but they would involve major spoilers, so I won't put them here ... yet.

Aliens is exactly 40 years old as of today. It was released on this day in 1986 and is one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time. An absolute classic.

Poster for the movie Aliens. released on the 18th of July 1986.

The concert was absolutely brilliant tonight. Kerbdog and Ash were both wonderful and PIL were incredible. John Lydon still and an amazingly powerful voice. Highlights were This Is Not A Love Song, Open Up (Leftfield cover) and an explosive version of Rise at the very end. Such a great night.
