I don’t understand. Why are Spain not taking off all their attacking players and giving Argentina loads of space to shoot from just outside the penalty area?
Can this football finally end so I can watch the last episode of Brokenwood Mysteries that has been cooing at me for a fortnight?
That might not have been the best move. They can now run ones, twos and the occasional three now.
After Leach and Patterson-White, Sam Curran might be the next best slow left-armer in the country.
What’s that about doubling your score after 30 overs? 194-1 gets India to 388 off the last ball.
Ooyvind Norstaad, Stig Bloemfomstein, Thor Heyerdahl, Edvard Munch, Roald Amundsen, Jo Nesbo, King Haakon VII. Your guys took an unlucky and devastating defeat in boiling hot confitions that rendered the game a borderline lottery. Can you hear me, King Haakon VII?
I’m feeling strange. To lose to Norway feels like the entirely right thing to do. Better than losing to Argentina or France. They will obviously lose at some point, and I love Norway. Sovereign wealth fund, best bit of commentary ever, The Heroes Of Telemark. This could be the easiest q-f ever.
Ahead of England v Norway in the World Cup, enjoy this classic from my old pal Patrick Kidd in The Times
They’ve already run out of Fery puns (although Fery across the mercy may yet occur if he takes pity on a stricken foe). So expect painful uses of ‘fairytale’ shortly before a race to the bottom with ‘Fery good’.
Adil Rashid with 166 T20I wickets has overtaken Ish Sodhi and is second only to Rashid Khan (193). All three leggies.
Yeah, but all politicians are the same, right?
All MPs' outside earnings by party: The Conservatives come out top at 66% of total earnings from second jobs, while Reform (with just eight MPs) account for 20%, and Labour (with 400+) just 7%. But taking into account their size, Reform has by far the highest outside earnings per MP of any party.

There’s a tennis player on my telly called Gasanova and I am troubled by the images that name is inducing in my brain.
Delighted to see and hear Rodney Clarke singing the anthems. He played a few times for my team when he left school. A very handy quick bowler who could ‘do a job with the bat’.
One of, indeed maybe the only occupational hazard of being a TMS commentator is being tagged in a clip going up on the hellsite which you are encouraged to RT, thereby glancing at the replies and discovering how much of a c**t you apparently are.
I attended a test match some time ago in which the English team conceded 362 for 4 on the first day and everyone seemed a bit despondent. On the Monday morning, England won by nine wickets with time to spare. Just saying... 🌞🏏 @georgedobell.bsky.social @norcrosscricket.bsky.social
There was a very good event last evening hosted by @thecricketer.com at the Poppy & Pint pub to celebrate the life of a Nottinghamshire great. Here's a little puzzle on the same theme to complete during the first drinks break. 🏏🌞😀 @georgedobell.bsky.social @norcrosscricket.bsky.social

I’m at breaking point with that sodding dog on the Vitality ads and we’re not even half way through June, yet.
I would increase the number of kids playing cricket every week by 4000%, and put all domestic and international matches on free to air television while maintaining the value of the current rights deals. Easy to do, but no one has dared to do it properly.

Last night I launched The Women in Whites: A History of Women's Cricket in England into the world. It was wonderful to celebrate the book with so many people who care about the women's game. THANK YOU to everyone who came 💛 PS You can buy the book here - www.waterstones.com/book/the-wom...
Well, that has unequivocally been England’s day.
Well, that has unequivocally been New Zealand’s day.
Still dry in Tooting. This match would be over by now if they played it in South London.
In fact, it’s moderately sunny. And the all weather strip on Tooting Bec Common is considerably more trustworthy than the Lord’s pitch.
