I sometimes think "being new and different..to express smth no one has thought of before" can be sort of a trap, bc there's nothing unique in itself, one doesnt exist in a vacuum. And to make things percieved as "new" one might need to surround self with "painted dragons"

I find it hard NOT to judge that kind of artist, because being new and different and wanting to express something no one has thought of before is kinda in my DNA....but not everyone feels that way, and for 30 years, NOT feeling that way was probably a better path to making money as an illustrator.
