Some people might not be aware, but it is entirely possible that without Dolly Parton we wouldn’t have had a COVID vaccine. She partly funded Moderna’s research and gave the largest individual contribution to make it all happen. Just gives you an idea of the kind of person she was.

fun fact: riz ahmed learned how to play drums for this movie, and he also would wear earplugs and communicate in sign language on set. definitely earned my respect for that lowk
dayblu3@northstarprophet.bsky.social · 3w agoit’s very much not a fun movie to watch. riz ahmed plays a drummer who loses his hearing, and from what i know and heard through my hearing aids the movie is very much true to the audio experience of being deaf. it’s a once in a lifetime watch but it’s a brutal one. i believe it’s also R.

truly heartless that people can do this and get away with it. it’s still free palestine, but make sure you give to the proper people. do not trust people’s intentions
