I know I probably say this every year but Art Fund should do Art Pass for 3 months for £20 even if you’ve been a member before! If you don’t live in London it’s too expensive for a year. Paying double for exhibitions on top of train fare =tax on provincial art lovers!

It always bothers me at a gig when the sound desk person decides to play a stone cold classic as the warm up (Carol King’s Tapestry in full?!) doesn’t this put terrible pressure on the artists? Like, “follow THAT!”

Thought the guy in Oxfam was chancing it with the mark up on these Virago Barbara Comyns editions that I found today, but just looked up the going rate on abebooks! Wtf.

I’m currently at the staring despairingly at social media stage of looking for paid work- historical research, writing, editing, talking about buildings, training tour guides- if anyone knows of anything I can do remotely, please pass it on. 🙏🏻

I wonder if Dr Hannah Fry will ever get around to telling us how Greggs manage to get a cup of tea so right when all their competitors get it so wrong and charge you twice as much for it.

A ludicrous piece (moaning about Tour Guides) in my parents’ semi-ironically purchased copy of The Oldie has made me so irate that I’m considering submitting a rebuttal. Is that a stupid idea? Or am I just angry about entitled red trouser-wearing toffs?

The Palm House- one of those novels where you just can’t see how the author made so much out of seemingly so little, to such astonishing effect. I also spent some of the early 1990s queuing for comedians’ autographs, thankfully not involved in the other comedian-related incidents related within.

Dream: Stewart Lee was giving me a lift from Edinburgh, we ate some amazing fudge. Went to fetch his sandwiches from his digs in a Scottish Country Dance Shoe Workshop, posh woman asks me “Where do you bottom?” Realise this means where do I live “down south”. #sleepinaheatwave
