Here's some crappy little sketches I did awhile back trying to figure out the layout for the space station. I'm including the map screen mock ups to give an idea of the top-down view.
Debating which of these I prefer. Ultimately, I'll go with the top example because that's how I'm already doing things. But the bottom example might be more aesthetically pleasing.
A day late for #screenshotsaturday but I've been a little busy this week.

Ugh... Momo. I don't like Saga in my Xenoblades. Chapter 13 kinda ruined my enjoyment of X. Now I'm dreading who the new hero in Xenoblade 3 is gonna be.

Added some stars. I'm tempted to try to animate the planet, but that's a lot of extra work for an area the player won't be hanging around for very long.
GB Studio time. Had to make a few changes because the scene was using over 400 tiles. This space station might be a bit too spacious...😅
Ten days later. Pretty happy with it for now. I might even dare to call it finished. Maybe just a few more tweaks. I probably won't keep the planet and stars in the background. I just wanted to see how it would look. #pixelart #screenshotsaturday

Listening to some video game jazz covers and sometimes the songs are so unrecognizable to the point that I have to double check that I clicked on the right one.
Intrusive thought: What if the "Birth of a Universe" scene from Xenoblade 2, but Klaus sounds like Dale Gribble. "Once, only a god could perform such a miracle. But today, mankind moves one step closer to the divine!"

Been watching more Star Trek Voyager and I don't know if it's improving or if I've developed Stockholm syndrome. I've made it to season 4.
