NWSL Players Association

@nwslplayers.bsky.social

The voice & advocate of NWSL Players. We are a 501(c)5, the labor union that represents NWSL Players in collective bargaining. We are committed to the health & safety of all players in the league & are dedicated to growing women's soccer globally.

The AFL-CIO and its Sports Council oppose the Protect College Sports Act. College athletes have made progress in asserting their rights. This bill would stem that progress & empower the NCAA to unilaterally set the rules without bargaining with athletes. aflcio.org/sites/defaul...

America’s unions fight for every worker — from the major league star to the construction worker building the stadium to the service workers in concessions. Our AFL-CIO Sports Council is growing solidarity and building worker power on and off the field!

Throughout #BHM, we’ve uplifted quiet giants whose courage and labor often went unseen but never unstudied: Claudette Colvin, Maida Springer Kemp, Imani Dorsey, and Brianna Pinto. Their stories remind us that Black women’s leadership has always been the engine of progress.

This #BHM, we’re honoring pioneers who opened doors - and those who keep them open. From Dr. Gladys West and Jo Ann Allen Boyce to Crystal Dunn and Christen Press, their excellence and advocacy remind us that progress is built by those who demand more and make space for the next generation.

Kaiser: silence is NOT negotiation. It’s time to come back and bargain in good faith. Solidarity with the Alliance of Healthcare Unions and the 31,000+ UNAC/UHCP nurses and health care workers on strike at Kaiser Permanente fighting for a fair contract.

Deputy Executive Director Tori Huster joined the USLPA, MLSPA, and the USWNTPA at the Independent Supporters Council Convention in Denver, CO, for an important discussion on what it takes to build a player-led league.
 Thank you to the ISC for bringing Players Associations and supporters together.

Time is running out for the @wnba.com to pay the players what they owe them. Their contract expires TONIGHT. Without the players, there is no WNBA — and fair pay is LONG overdue. America’s unions stand in solidarity with the WNBPA players in this fight ✊

BREAKING: The House voted to extend the ACA tax credits. This vote is a promising step to save 130,000 health care jobs and stop a massive spike in health care costs. We commend the Republicans and Democrats who stood with working people. https://bit.ly/4sEjiwz

AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler issued the following statement:

Today’s vote to extend the ACA tax credits happened because working people refused to accept another price hike engineered by President Trump and his congressional allies. Extending the ACA tax credits will save 130,000 health care jobs and stop a massive price hike in health care costs at a time when working people are already being squeezed by rising costs.

For months, working people have made clear that we won’t accept higher health care costs, lost jobs or bare-bones coverage dressed up as a solution to politicians’ self-imposed crisis.

This vote, closely following the bipartisan passage of the Protect America’s Workforce Act in the House, proves that when workers stand together we can build a successful and bipartisan coalition to protect working families. We commend the Republican and Democratic leaders who stood with workers and voted to stop this health care price hike.
