USL League One team Portland Hearts of Pine is set to build a new 9,000- to 11,000-seat soccer-specific stadium for its men's and women's teams, aiming to open in 2029. The stadium will be located by the waterfront at Cassidy Point, overlooking the Fore River estuary.

Great goal from New York Red Bulls there. Scored by 19-year-old Panamanian Mijahir Jimenez 🇵🇦 Well worked. The face pass from Nealis to Forsberg, missing out Berggren who then got the assist, fooled the Orlando defense.

Another game being played at Yankee Stadium tonight, as New York City FC face Toronto. Two World Cup hosting cities, but sadly Yankee Stadium wasn't used as the New York New Jersey venue for the World Cup final.

As the Liverpool v Wrexham game sparked the latest round of Yankee Stadium as a soccer field discourse, here's Pele playing at the stadium for New York Cosmos when they didn't even cover the infield dirt/sand with temporary grass.

A crowd of 42,204 turned out at Yankee Stadium to watch a pre-season friendly between Liverpool and Wrexham last night. It was the second-highest attendance for soccer at the stadium this year after New York City vs Inter Miami (45,845). Photo by Dustin Satloff.

Vermont Green FC has made an unbeaten run to the USL League Two national championship game for the second season in a row. These were the celebrations following Arnaud Tattevin's go-ahead goal in extra time in last year's conference final.

Also -an idea- New York Cosmos should replace NYCFC as NYC's nomadic team. They should push to move higher up when USL restructures with a Div I league (they are the New York Cosmos after all) and play in the baseball stadiums as NYCFC did.

It's still funny they played a home game in LA. They needed a home but I quite liked the NYCFC nomads era. It was one of the things that provided additional interest in MLS regular seasons that are often in need of additional interest.

New York City FC moves into a new stadium at Willets Point, Queens, next year, ending its nomadic era. Here are the locations across New York and the USA that NYCFC nomads have called home.
