We already have a Samba band leading our march, and now Oban Pride is going to Brazil! 🇧🇷🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We are representing Scotland at São Paulo Pride Parade on June 7th! More details in the images! Dorian T. Fisk photo by @donaldscarrphotography (IG)

Oban Pride is representing Scotland at the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of São Paulo Pride!Oban Pride will be joined by Pride Cymru, Belfast Pride, and Pride in London for a week of meetings with Brazil's Pride organisations, and visits to social projects, including for trans women, LGBTQIA+ youth rejected by their families, and older LGBTQIA+ people, ending with representing the UK in the world's largest Pride, São Paulo Pride Parade.This is an amazing opportunity for Oban Pride and for Scotland, for making connections, building relationships, and for mutual support with our fellow Prides and LGBTQIA+| family in Brazil. The delegation and all the events are being organised by the British Council as part of the UK/Brazil Season of Culture, a year-long celebration of links between the two countries.Representing Scotland will be our Chair, Kevin, and two-time Oban Pride performer and workshop host, Dorian T. We know it's a bit late, but when we said history doesn't stop and so neither would we, we weren't kidding! Final post about LGBT+ science and Innovation: Dr Mike Farquhar and the NHS Rainbow badge

His diverse work includes promoting awareness of the importance of sleep for young people, and fatigue and sleep in night shift healthcare workers." This inspired him to help develop the Rainbow NHS Badge at Evelina London to help reduce discrimination and to show young LGBTQ+ people accessing their services that they are there for them. He has won several awards for his advocacy work including the Innovation Award at the first Proud Scotland Awards in 2019. The Rainbow NHS Badge was later adopted by NHS England and rolled out across many organisations, which led to one of our Trustees finally getting one. We have recently found out that the original badge has been accepted into the Science Museum Archives!"
