Buntzen Lake being closed due to wildfires in the area is serving as a bit of a mind fuck tonight. It’s a 25ish minute drive from my parents’ house. One of our favourite spots to kayak at. Wildfire threats have never been that close to home or to my -very local- fave nature spots

Sometimes I wonder ‘when did I become so dang awkward at interacting with people I want to stay in touch with?’ and the answer is generally ‘the year I burnt out and am still crawling back from’ I guess 💀

Certainly true in a lot of ways, but at least in Canada…. Give me the strawberries, bread, cucumbers, butter and raspberries from the 80s. Most notably, some fruit has gotten worse/bland. I don’t bother buying strawberries at the store anymore.
