Republicans be like "Trump donates his constitutionally mandated annual presidential salary." Meanwhile Trump earns $1 billion from crypto through corrupt mechanizations while seeking institutional immunity for him and his family.

The opening sentence from this @wsj.com article is awful. There is no evidence that Sen Manuel Cepeda advanced a strategy that combined guerrilla warfare with electoral politics. Absolute garbage framing, & the type of misinformation that got him killed. A terrible article full of junk reporting.

One month before the Colombian next month, the latest Invamer poll has Iván Cepeda breaking into the 40+ percent range for the first time and winning in the second round. He beats Abelardo quite easily, but faces a competitive race against Paloma Valencia.

Bailouts for Argentina, billions spent on war instead of healthcare, tariff refunds for corporations who barely absorbed them, insider trading, & now they want a financial bailout for the UAE in addition to more war/militarism against Cuba. The Trump admin hates their working class constituents.

The Trump administration is considering a bailout for the United Arab Emirates over economic losses sustained as a result of the U.S. war with Iran. President Trump and his family also happen to have extensive business ties with the UAE. trib.al/CpCz4Oc

Florida is one of the worst states to be a renter: zero tenant protections in one of the most unaffordable states despite an oversupply of housing. The YIMBY math ain’t mathing. Social housing is the key to permanent affordability. therealdeal.com/miami/2026/0...

Florida named worst state for apartment renters, despite oversupply

Blame these think tanks for the Iran War

We asked AI who the biggest boosters of the conflict are. Surprise: they are all connected to Israel and supported the Iraq war too.

Trump theoretically had some leeway in his illegal & criminal war with Iran bc there was a glut in the global oil market. That is being wiped out faster than expected, prices are spiking, & working-class households will be put under more financial stress. Renewable energy is a must.

Peter Gleick@petergleick.bsky.social · 5mo ago

Oil going thru the roof. The higher the price of oil, the higher the cost to the average American. But the higher the price of oil, the more renewable energy looks both attractive and necessary. To bad Donald Trump is trying to kill the US electric-vehicle and renewable energy markets.

Crude oil prices dollars per barrel over the last month. Rising from around $65 to over $90 because of the Iran War.

NEW: The military systems that the U.S. sent to the Iran region in recent weeks ALONE cost us nearly $60 MILLION per day — just a fraction of the cost of this war. That ~$60 million could cover Medicaid for 4 million Americans per day, or SNAP for 9.5 million. From @nationalpriorities.bsky.social:
