🚨New paper alert 🚨 Led by Andrea Burke, we use sulfur isotopes in ice cores to show that some of the coldest decades of the Common Era were associated with volcanoes from the extra-tropics with relatively small input of stratospheric sulfate 🌋 🧵https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2221810120
